Aldila Rogue Max 75 Shaft Review – Specs, Flex, Weight
The Aldila Rogue series of shafts has something for everyone.
Whether you are a heavy hitter or need something lightweight to help you maximize distance, the Aldila Rogue line is a great place to start your research.
And while it’s always advisable to go in for a fitting, it is also very helpful to figure out as much as you can about any prospective shaft. Today, we will be taking a look at the Aldila Rogue Max 75: a popular shaft for moderate swing speed players seeking more distance.
Aldila Rogue Max 75 Shaft Overview
The Aldila Rogue Max 75 has a very cool look overall. Near the grip section, you have circuitry graphics that resemble what you would see on a motherboard. Very techy, very futuristic-looking. In the middle of the shaft, there is the Rogue Max branding along with the weight and flex specs. From the middle to the tip section, the Aldila Rogue Max 75 bears a sleek silver finish with black and white lettering.
I really liked the feel of this shaft. I have tested the Aldila Rogue Max 65 in the past and my only gripe with it was that it could feel a bit whippy. So for my swing speed, the heavier Aldila Rogue Max 75 was definitely a better fit. It felt much more stable and less active in the tip section. The kick point of the Aldila Rogue Max 75 is in the middle of the shaft and while it is clear, it is also controlled. You can feel the club head follow on your intended path even as the smash factor remains high.
The Aldila Rogue Max 75 comes in stiff and regular flex. For my swing, stiff worked better and provided the stability that I needed. But moderate and slow tempo players will find a friend in the regular flex version. Our moderate swing speed testers were increasing their smash factor with the Aldila Rogue Max 75 in regular flex and really loved the feel of the controlled activity in the midsection.
Why is the Aldila Rogue Max 75 So Popular?
One thing that was consistent across our testing party was increased ball speed.
The Aldila Rogue Max 75 in any flex excels at pushing your ball speed to its limit. Most of the time, this will result in longer distance which is what I suspect makes this shaft so popular.
How Does the Aldila Rogue Max 75 Perform?
Let’s get the bad news out of the way first.
The average spin rate after three swings each with the Aldila Rogue Max 75 was 2800 RPMs for our test party. For low spin players or players who are used to much higher driver spin rates, this may not be cause for alarm. For us though, the spin was making for unpredictable ball flight. Unfortunately, we saw a couple of slices during our test session.
And for me, that higher spin affects my overall carry distance negatively. However, when we hit the ball flush the spin was muted and we were getting incredible distance. Despite the slices and high spin rates, our average drive distance after three swings each was 266.3 yards (carry). Rollout distance was usually between 7 and 11 yards. Nothing significant because of the high spin rates. But that carry is enough to satisfy most high/mid handicap players.
The launch of the Aldila Rogue Max 75 is mid/low and is difficult to work any higher even for skilled players. There is still too much give in the shaft to fight the natural mid/low launch.

What Flexes Are Available? What Swing Speeds Do They Suit?
Stiff would be a good fit for players swinging their driver between 85 and 95 MPH. Regular flex is a good choice for 80-85 MPH swingers.
What Weights Are Available? What Swing Speeds Do They Suit?
There is very little difference in feel between the 74g and 75g versions. I would say that either would be a solid choice for players in the 80-95 MPH swing speed neighborhood.
