Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue Shaft Review – Specs, Flex, Weight
Believe it or not, the first Ventus Blue shaft hit the tour all the way back in 2018.
So it’s been six long years since we have been treated to a new version of this lauded shaft.
So if you’re a fan of the Ventus Blue shafts, 2024 will be a good year for you.
Fujikura has finally dropped the Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue with Velocore+ technology and they’re claiming it offers superior club head stabilization and dispersion.
So does the Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue live up to the hype? I tested it to find out.
Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue Shaft Overview
The Fujikara 2024 Ventus Blue shaft features a re-imagined VeloCore design – they’re calling it VeloCore+.
VeloCore+ is a full-length material so it runs throughout the length of the shaft. It provides a very stable base and is enhanced through the use of 70 ton pitch high modulus carbon fiber.
The Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue is a wood shaft that promotes mid/low launch and low spin – just like the original Ventus Blue shafts.
In fact, Fujikura has gone to great lengths to state that the Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue is just like the original, only better.
So you get the same launch and spin profiles as the original.
We’ll get to the performance in a minute but I want to talk about how this shaft feels.
The Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue is soft in the handle, stiff in the midsection and feels really stiff in the tip section – very familiar for anyone who has gamed the original Ventus Blue shafts.
The Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue also has a lighter blue matte finish compared to the original which makes it stand out more.
The VeloCore+ branding is on the bottom which is the biggest difference in terms of looks.
Why is the Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue So Popular?
The Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue is going to be a big hit because it takes everything that was great about the original Ventus Blue and simply enhances it.
The new Ventus Blue delivers tight dispersion and even a boost in ball speeds.
How Does the Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue Perform?
In a nutshell, the Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue performed very much like the original Ventus.
The bend profile and feel are nearly indistinguishable from the original Ventus Blue shafts. So it didn’t take long for me to get into a groove with this shaft.
The launch angles were right where I expected they’d be: between 12 and 14 degrees, never straying higher or lower.
The spin numbers were actually a bit higher than I would have expected; but that may be just because I brought my winter swing with me into testing.
At any rate, I was averaging 2434 RPMs of spin which isn’t bad at all for my driver; but I do remember the original Ventus Blue being in the 2200-2300 RPM range.
Nevertheless, the Fujikura 2024 Ventus Blue delivers on its promise of tight dispersion. My average off-line divergence was 14 yards.
