PROJECT X HZRDUS T800 GRAPHITE SHAFT REVIEW – SPECS, FLEX, WEIGHT
The Project X HZRDUS T800 graphite wood shaft is built for slow and mid-swing speeds to optimize stability and lag for a mid-to-low launch.
By the end of this post, you will have a clearer picture of the benefits of the HZRDUS T800 graphite wood shaft and whether it works for you.
In addition, I reveal the specs, flex, and weight in our Project X HZRDUS T800 Graphite Shaft review.
PROJECT X HZRDUS T800 GRAPHITE SHAFT OVERVIEW
The Project X HZRDUS T800 graphite shaft is an older driver model built for a broader range of golfers.
I found it delivered mid-launch and moderate spin off the tee for neutral flight. In addition, the weight, flex, and torque profiles make them better suited to slow and mid-swing speeds.
WHY IS THE PROJECT X HZRDUS T800 GRAPHITE SHAFT SO POPULAR?
The T800 wood shaft is popular because it suits a wide range of amateur golfers with slow to mid-swing speeds.
It also promotes a mid-launch for a gradual descent and added roll upon landing.
HOW DOES THE PROJECT X HZRDUS T800 GRAPHITE SHAFT PERFORM?
True Temper built the Project X HZRDUS T800 to generate moderate spin for a mid-launch while ensuring a soft feel.
In addition, I felt the lighter, flexible 5.0 edition produced higher torque, which was prone to force my clubface open on the downswing. However, the torque combined with added flex produced optimal whip into the ball at contact for rampant ball velocity, a medium launch, and adequate carry distance.

WHAT FLEXES ARE AVAILABLE? WHAT SWING SPEEDS DO THEY SUIT?
The Project X HZRDUS T800 is constructed in a 5.0, 5.5, and 6.5 flex.
In simple terms, a senior, regular and stiff flex. I find they best suit golfers with slow to medium swing speeds searching for medium spin and launch on longer shots.
The 5.0 is a senior flex option ideal for slower swing speeds seeking added whip leading into the impact. This feature accelerates your clubhead speed on the downswing to give slow swing speeds the added push needed for a powerful strike.
Next, the 5.5 version translates to a regular flex which I noticed performs best for moderate swing speeds. This version features mid-torque, less flex, and greater mass for enhanced stability on your downswing.
Finally, the 6.0 is a stiff shaft design, which is better for fast-moderate swing speeds. In my experience, it produced less spring into the ball than the others. However, it is more than I have experienced with most firm shafts. Plus, it encouraged a low to mid launch for penetrating flight and enhanced roll.
WHAT WEIGHTS ARE AVAILABLE? WHAT SWING SPEEDS DO THEY SUIT?
The three Project X HZRDUS T800 shaft options are on the moderate side to suit slow to medium swing speeds.
The 5.0 senior flex option tips the scale at 56.5 grams, while the 5.5 raises it to 58 grams. Finally, the 6.0 design weighs 57.5 grams.
The moderate weight is exceptional for slow to mid-swingers looking to gain additional miles per hour on the downswing. In my experience, players swinging 97 mph can benefit the most from the added speed provided by the Project X HZRDUS T800 Shaft.
