Taylormade SIM2 Max Vs Titleist TSi2 Hybrids Comparison Overview
Need a clear-cut choice for a difficult par 5 approach shot?
Then you need to check out some quality hybrid clubs. If you haven’t already invested in a hybrid club, now’s the time to.
In 2022, there are so many technologically advanced hybrid clubs to choose from.
The trouble is finding the right one. A couple of prime examples of technologically advanced hybrids are the Titleist TSi2’s and the Taylormade SIM2 Max hybrids.
And in the following comparison overview, we will be letting you know who these clubs suit best.
Taylormade SIM2 Max Hybrid Overview
“Taylormade was the company that first introduced the world to hybrid clubs. With the SIM2 Max clubs, they are staying true to the rescue roots of hybrids.”
In fact, Taylormade is still calling the SIM2 Max clubs “rescue” clubs – and they sure live up to the name.
The SIM2 Max hybrids feature recessed heel and toe area so that they glide through the rough better.
From the cabbage, the SIM2 Max hybrids perform very well and allow for the easy sweeping motion you need to get the ball back on the fairway.
Assisting players with a sweeping swing motion is the V steel panel on the sole that helps pull your swing downward.
The SIM2 Max hybrids also feature C300 steel faces which help with ball speed by stabilizing the face at impact.
Overall the SIM2 Max hybrids give plenty of distance for all kinds of players and perform very well as rescue clubs.
Titleist TSi2 Hybrid Overview
“The Titleist TSi2 hybrids are available in lofts of 18, 21 and 24 degrees.”
The Titleist TSi2’s do a great job of combining versatility with amazing feel.
They are certainly more for lower handicap players as they bear slightly smaller head profiles than the SIM2 Max’s; but they are still forgiving overall.
They feature an adjustable loft sleeve and adjustable head weights. The forged 455 Carpenter steel faces provide amazing ball speed and stability for anyone with a moderate to fast swing speed as well.
However, the Titleist TSi2’s don’t perform very well in the rough.
“For anyone with slow to moderate swing speeds or anyone who finds themselves in the rough often, the Taylormade SIM2 Max hybrids would be the better fit. For faster swing speed players and lower handicappers, the Titleist TSi2’s are the way to go.”

Taylormade SIM2 Max Hybrid First Impressions
The first thing you will notice is how naturally the CG pulls your swing down.
Overall this was a very comfortable hybrid club to swing. It comes in hybrids 3-7 so you get a nice range depending on what your game needs.
And of course, you will surely be impressed by the distance of this hybrid club even if you are a high-handicapper. While we would say that it’s not quite suitable for use off the tee, it sure is close.
The SIM2 Hybrid Family
Included in the SIM2 line is the SIM2 Max. If you think the SIM2 was forgiving, wait until you try the SIM2 Max. It has a larger footprint and sweet spot and yields the same impressive distance with the same shot-corrective face curvature.
Another asset of note with the SIM2 Max Hybrid is that it performs better off the tee.
We usually don’t use hybrids off the tee but the Taylormade SIM2 MAX 3H was providing comparable distance off the tee to our drivers.
Titleist TSi2 Hybrid First Impressions
The Titleist TSi2 hybrids feel light in the hands so you don’t expect much distance from them.
However, all the distance is generated by the forged carpenter’s steel face. This face is thin, and flexes like you wouldn’t believe. Plus, it hardly matters where on the face you make contact. Our testers were getting very close ball speed readings on shots in the sweet spot compared to shots outside the sweet spot.
The Titleist TS Hybrid Family
The TS line also features the TSi3. If the Titleist TSi2 plays more like a fairway wood, then the TSi3 hybrids give the performance of irons. They are remarkably versatile and workable with an adjustable hosel and an adjustable weight that can be set in the neutral, heel and to positions.
