Titleist TSi3 Vs Titleist TSi2 Hybrids Comparison Overview

Titleist TSi3 Vs Titleist TSi2 Hybrids

Surprisingly, Titleist hybrids offer a lot of adjustability features.

While the Tutleist pedigree certainly still comes through in the TSi series, we were surprised to see how much design emphasis went into making these clubs as versatile as possible.

Two TSi models that stand out in this regard are the Titleist TSi2 and the Titleist TSi3 hybrid clubs.

We wanted to see which one (if any of the two) had more to offer and what kind of player is suited to each so we went out and tested them side-by-side.

Titleist Tsi3 Hybrid Overview

“The Titleist TSi3 hybrid is only available in 18 and 20 degree loft versions; but that shouldn’t deter any low, mid or handicap players.”

That’s because the Titleist TSi3 hybrids come with SureFit hosels that allow you to choose from 16 different loft and lie combinations. Then there is the adjustable club head weight to help with ball flight.

As if all that weren’t enough, these clubs feature an adjustable track weight in the sole that lets you shift the CG into the toe, neutral or heel positions.

The Titleist TSi3 is incredibly versatile and offers the same kind of consistent ball speed as the Titleist TSi2.

Apex height was a little disappointing; but we got the impression that the Titleist TSi2 and Titleist TSi3 hybrids are for faster swing speed players anyway.

Titleist TSi2 Hybrid Overview

“The Titleist TSi2’s come in 18, 21 and 24 degree versions and have the same Surefit Hosel and adjustable head weighting.”

However, the Titleist TSi2 hybrids lack the sliding track weight.

In general though, we found that the Titleist TSi2 were actually more congenial for players seeking the classic sweeping swing compatibility of traditional hybrids.

The Titleist TSi2 offer high launch and have a more forgiving profile than the Titleist TSi3 hybrids.

The spin on the Titleist TSi2’s is a bit higher than the Titleist TSi3’s; but that won’t matter much if you are really seeking out a rescue hybrid.

The Titleist TSi2 is still plenty versatile but it also offers slightly smoother turf interaction than the Titleist TSi3 hybrid.

“While the versatility of the Titleist TSi3 is incredible and may make it the better club for fittings, we like the Titleist TSi2’s for overall forgiveness and performance.

The Titleist TSi3’s may suit low handicap players better; but the Titleist TSi2’s offer more traditional hybrid performance.”

Titleist Tsi3 Hybrid

In 20 Words or Less

This is the ultimate Players hybrid. It is extremely easy to control and shape the ball.

Titleist TSi2 Hybrid

In 20 Words Or Less

The Titleist TSi2 hybrids play long and have a feel you would not expect from a distance hybrid.

Titleist Tsi3 Hybrid First Impressions

The smaller head profile, almost iron like, is noticeable straight away. It is a lot smaller than the other two models in the range.

We actually liked it a lot, the smaller head shape is definitely something to consider as it may be off putting to some players.

The 455 forged face makes a big difference in the TSi3, it is a lot softer off the face, and the ball speed and distance is noticeable from the get go.

The shaft options are great, after finding the right shaft and dialing in the SureFit Hosel, the ability to control and shape the ball is magnificent. It feels like you are hitting a forgiving iron.

Titleist TSi3 Hybrid Family

The TSi3 has two siblings. The TSi1 is being reviewed in this article, the other model is the TSi2.

It falls between the TSi1 and TSi3. The TSi2 is more of a forgiving model like the TSi1, this would suit a mid handicap golfer. It still has a low spin profile, but with its high launch properties it makes it easy to hit.

It has 3 loft options with the SureFit Hosel system. Titliest say it is for “Players with a sweeping delivery seeking a forgiving long iron replacement.”

Titleist TSi2 Hybrid First Impressions

The Titleist TSi2 hybrids feel light in the hands so you don’t expect much distance from them.

However, all the distance is generated by the forged carpenter’s steel face. This face is thin, and flexes like you wouldn’t believe. Plus, it hardly matters where on the face you make contact. Our testers were getting very close ball speed readings on shots in the sweet spot compared to shots outside the sweet spot.

The Titleist TS Hybrid Family

The TS line also features the TSi3. If the Titleist TSi2 plays more like a fairway wood, then the TSi3 hybrids give the performance of irons. They are remarkably versatile and workable with an adjustable hosel and an adjustable weight that can be set in the neutral, heel and to positions.

Titleist TSi3 Hybrid Selling Points

  • Iron-like-shape promotes confidence for low handicap players
  • 455 forged face for great feel
  • Adjustable SureFit Hosel
  • Has a number of shaft options

Titleist TSi2 Hybrid Selling Points

Who is the Titleist Tsi3 Hybrid For?

The Titleist TSi3 is built for the better player, unless you are a low handicap golfer stay away from this club. Even though it still has forgiveness elements to it, the TSi3’s main focus is control and shot shaping.

The better player likes to hit different shapes and flight the ball low and high, with the TSi3 it is very easy to do, however you do lose some forgiveness.

The 455 forged face is great, it provides a nice soft feel off the face, and with the SureFit Hosel and shaft options, this club really sets up well and ticks a lot of boxes for the lower handicap golfer.
