Titleist TSi2 Vs Ping G425 Hybrids Comparison Overview

Titleist TSi2 Vs Ping G425 Hybrids

It’s hard to beat the performance and premium appointments that Titleist usually offers; but that sure hasn’t stopped Ping from trying.

Today we will  be shining a light on some of the best hybrids that Titleist and Ping produce: the G425’s and the TSi2’s.

The Titleist TSi2 hybrids offer maximum adjustability so they are incredibly versatile while the Ping G425 hybrids offer a more traditional game-improvement focus on design.

The Ping G425 hybrids aren’t without premium features though so let’s take a closer look at both of these clubs.

Titleist TSi2 Hybrid Overview

“The Titleist TSi2 hybrids are available in lofts of 18, 21 and 24 degrees.”

So your options are a bit limited in terms of stock loft; but there is a very good reason for that.

You can pretty much tweak any of the TSi2 hybrids to your specific swing type and range thanks to the SureFit hosel that allows you to tune the club to 16 unique loft and lie combinations.

On top of that, you can also adjust the club head weight of any of the TSi2 hybrids. Overall the TSi2 hybrids were very consistent.

While it will take you some time to find the right loft, lie and head weight combination, dialing it in will really pay off.

The face of the Titleist TSi2 hybrids is made of forged 455 Carpenter steel which is incredibly resilient and incredibly thin.

In addition to flexing to a high degree and creating impressive ball speed, the Carpenter steel face also feels fantastic when struck square.

Ping G425 Hybrid Overview

“You can get the Ping G425’s in lofts ranging from 2H to 7H; but there are no adjustable head weights.”

So while each individual club isn’t as versatile as the TSi2 hybrids, you should still be able to find the perfect G425 for your bag. Like the Ping G425 driver, the G425 hybrid is built to be forgiving.

It has a wrap-around face that creates a seamless bond with the club head which results in better flex in more parts of the face.

The Ping G425 hybrid also features tungsten weighting in the sole to increase MOI and overall stability.

“The TSi2 has a better feel at impact but it lacks the high degree of forgiveness that the Ping G425’s offer. For a wider swath of players, we would recommend the Ping G425’s.”

Titleist TSi2 Hybrid

The Titleist TSi2 hybrids play long and have a feel you would not expect from a distance hybrid.

Ping G425 Hybrid

In 20 Words Or Less

The Ping G425 hybrid clubs will help mid and low handicap players reach the pin from a variety of lies.

Titleist TSi2 Hybrid First Impressions

The Titleist TSi2 hybrids feel light in the hands so you don’t expect much distance from them.

However, all the distance is generated by the forged carpenter’s steel face. This face is thin, and flexes like you wouldn’t believe. Plus, it hardly matters where on the face you make contact. Our testers were getting very close ball speed readings on shots in the sweet spot compared to shots outside the sweet spot.

The Titleist TS Hybrid Family

The TS line also features the TSi3. If the Titleist TSi2 plays more like a fairway wood, then the TSi3 hybrids give the performance of irons. They are remarkably versatile and workable with an adjustable hosel and an adjustable weight that can be set in the neutral, heel and to positions.

Ping G425 Hybrid First Impressions

The Ping G425 will impress you with the way it looks right away.

The sleek, matte black design of the head begs to be swung. You come for the looks; but you’ll stay for the feel of the maraging steel face. The Ping G425 is available in 2h-7h.

The Ping G425 hybrid clubs can also be adjusted at the hosel for lie and loft so it’s pretty versatile overall.

The G Hybrid Family

You can also pick up the Ping G410 hybrid which allows for a wide range of loft and lie adjustability thanks to the TrajectoryTuning hosel. It’s also a bit more forgiving than the G425.

Like the Ping G425 hybrid, the Ping G410 hybrid clubs feature tungsten rear weights. However, it places a higher emphasis on perimeter weighting which again, makes them a bit more forgiving than the Ping G425 hybrids. They are available in 2H-6H.

You will feel right at home with these hybrids if distance is what you’re after.

They don’t do much in terms of short-game spin but chances are that if you’re looking at the Titleist TSi2 hybrids, you aren’t looking to score with your hybrids.

Who is the Ping G425 Hybrid for?

The Ping G425 would be best used by advanced players who are able to hit the green from nearly anywhere on the fairway.

What we really liked about the Ping G425 hybrid clubs was the consistent spin control. If you are able, you can decrease spin on longer approaches and increase on shorter approaches.

If you are looking for some hybrids that will help you reach the pin faster then the Ping G425’s would be a great fit for you.

That all being said, the Ping G425 hybrid is certainly not the most forgiving hybrid club out there.

It would certainly help to practice a bit of honest discernment before you commit to buying the Ping G425 Hybrid as it will surely cause some frustration if you are still floundering in the high handicap range.
