True Temper Elevate 95 Vs True Temper Elevate 105 Shaft Comparison Overview
The whole Elevate line of shafts was designed to increase a player’s apex height and spin rates.
That’s a given. And with a 10g difference in weight, you would think that the True Temper Elevate 95 and Elevate 105 wouldn’t be all that different, right?
Not exactly. I tested both of these shafts side-by-side and the results may surprise you.
True Temper Elevate 95 Shaft Overview
“The True Temper Elevate 95 shaft is available in regular and stiff flex. There are 93g and 94g weight options available.”
At a 95g weight point, I was expecting wide dispersion. That wasn’t the case. Instead, my off-line divergence stayed in the 7-9 yard range.
And I was able to get a draw out of this shaft very easily – albeit a wider draw than what I’m used to.
The launch is definitely high and unfortunately, can’t be worked down. But that will still be good news to players who struggle to get air under the ball.
And compared to the Elevate 105, the Elevate 95 has a considerably stronger kick.
True Temper Elevate 105 Shaft Overview
“The True Temper Elevate 105 shaft comes in regular, stiff and extra stiff flex. There are 106g, 107g and 109g versions available.”
The True Temper Elevate 105 produced slightly less spin but launched pretty much the same as the Elevate 95.
The feel of the Elevate 105 was a bit more controlled as well. But surprisingly, the more controlled feel didn’t translate to tighter dispersion.
In fact the off-line divergence numbers between the Elevate 95 and 105 were almost identical.
“The True Temper Elevate 105 was ultimately more effective at hitting different shot shapes while still producing optimal lies.
The True Temper Elevate 95 is a good lightweight steel shaft option; but I would only recommend it to players with deliberate tempos.”
