True Temper Elevate 105 Vs True Temper Elevate 95 Shaft Comparison Overview
The Elevate series of shafts from True Temper does just that: elevates.
It elevates your launch, it elevates your spin rates and for the right kind of player, it elevates your game.
The True Temper Elevate 105 and 95g versions are the lighter shafts in the series so we thought we’d test them side-by-side to give you a better idea of how they perform and who each is best for.
True Temper Elevate 105 Shaft Overview
“The True Temper Elevate 105 is available in regular (106g), stiff (107g) and extra stiff (109g) flex.”
What I really liked about this shaft is that it was very easy to load and seemed to transfer my swing energy directly into the ball.
But as a faster swinger, I certainly had to smooth out my tempo quite a bit which was a bit of a struggle for me.
When I did, I got high launch and the ability to land more GIRs from distance. The spin rates were high so I had to be careful when trying to shape my shots.
Again though, when I reigned in my swing, I was able to consistently find the middle of the fairway.
The True Temper Elevate 105 definitely prefers a deliberate tempo and will reward your controlled transition with workability, tight dispersion and immense stopping power.
True Temper Elevate 95 Shaft Overview
“The True Temper Elevate 95 is available in regular (93g) and stiff flex (94g).”
I had even more trouble with this significantly lighter shaft. To me, there was a bit too much action.
However, when I finally matched the pace of the True Temper Elevate 95, I began to see why so many people liked it.
The launch is high but not out of control. In fact, I was able to get my launch in my optimal window for carry distance: just above a piercing trajectory.
In all, the True Temper Elevate 95 played shorter for me than the True Temper Elevate 105; but that may not be the case for slower swing speed players.
“I actually believe that the True Temper Elevate 95 would be a suitable iron shaft for beginners, despite the steel composition. It feels just as lively as a graphite shaft but offers more control.
The True Temper Elevate 105 is better for players in the 85-90 swing speed range with moderate tempos.”
