Titleist TSR3 Fairway Wood

Sometimes you want nothing but pure performance from your golf clubs.

You are a pure ball striker and you are willing to forgo forgiveness for pure playability and precision.

It is in these times that you want a club like the Titleist TSR3 fairway wood.

Many people underestimate just how powerful a good three wood can be, the added dimension it can bring to your golf game.

If you think that you want a new fairway wood in the bag for the season ahead, read on and we will show you how good this thing is.

The Titleist TSR Fairway Wood Family

The Titleist TSR fairway wood family is one of the most impressive line-ups in the golfing world for 2023.

With brilliant products that will help golfers from high handicappers all the way tour golfers, this is a specialised product line-up that deserves all of the credit it gets.

The TSR3 has been developed with a tour-preferred design and has been fine-tuned for precision and playability.

Titleist are known to make golf clubs that are for better golfers first and this line-up, although there is the TSR1 for less-skilled golfers, is definitely there to help elite ball strikers.

Who Is The TSR3 Fairway Wood For?

This club has been developed for tour golfers and elite amateurs.

One of the key aspects of this club is the adjustability of it to allow golfers to fine-tune how this club performs to their swing.

The low centre of gravity (CoG) helps deliver an impressive ball flight.

The TSR3 has those classic Titleist looks. The teardrop shape looks great behind the ball and the club sounds utterly sublime at impact.

These points may be quite superficial but for the kind of golfer who loves a modern classic look then this is the club for you.

What Is The TSR3+ All About?

This club is all about performance.

It is about looking and feeling great whilst helping you to make the ball go exactly where you want it to go.

It has been developed with input from the best players in the world and you can tell.

Another key feature of the club is its versatility. The ability to adjust the position of the weight as well as the lie and loft gives you ultimate control as a golfer.

You can tune the loft up or down depending on conditions or what you want from your fairway wood.

How Forgiving Is It?

One thing that is important to bear in mind is that the TSR3 is not built for forgiveness.

In this video you can see how the TSR2 and TSR3 compare and you will see that it is not about forgiveness.

Available Shafts

Interestingly, the shaft line-up for the TSR3 is the same as the TSR2.

This speaks to the fact that both of these clubs have been developed with the tour in mind but giving options for more mortal golfers like us. There are four standard options (below) and four upgrade options:

Is The Titleist TSR3 Fairway Wood Worth It?

If you are an elite ball striker and you want the utmost precision in your game, then this is definitely worth it.

The TSR3 is a specialised club for highly skilled golfers. For this very small population of golfers, yes this fairway wood is worth it.

It has to be said at this point that this club isn’t for everyone. This is why the TSR2 is far more likely to be found in golf bags.

The TSR2 gives incredible performance with that added safety blanket of extra forgiveness.

Titleist TSR3 Fairway Wood1

I love this club. The look, feel and sound of it just makes me feel fuzzy and reminds me why I love Titleist.

There is a small margin for error and misses are kinda punished, certainly more than the TSR2. It is a wonderful club that will bring joy to very talented golfers.

This club scared me a little as I knew that I had to hit it great to get the best out of it.

That isn’t a criticism, it’s how it was developed, but it is to say that you need to be hitting a lot of balls and have a great swing to make this work.

Who Is The Titleist TSR3 Fairway Wood For?

The Titleist TSR3 has been built for elite ball strikers.

It is for tour pros and highly skilled amateurs. If you fit into those categories then you will love this club.

For most golfers, the TSR2 will be a better fit but this club is unapologetically specialised.

Many people talk about how difficult a Formula 1 car is to drive.

Only the best drivers in the world can get the best performance out of those cars and the Titleist TSR3 is the golfing equivalent.

You don’t have to be quite an F1 driver, skills-wise, but you need to be bloody good.

This is an absolutely fantastic golf club and my only criticisms of it are because it is so specialised.

Like I have already said, the TSR3 is unapologetically hard to hit so don’t worry if it’s not for you, the TSR2 will happily be there to give you exactly what you need.
