Dynamic Gold R300 Vs Dynamic Gold S300 Shaft Comparison Overview
Every shaft you use is important.
But as you start to hone your game, you will realize that you really have to scrutinize which shafts you are using on your irons. While some would argue that your driver is your most important club, the iron game is what separates the men from the boys.
But it can be very hard to determine the differences between certain iron shafts – especially when they come from the same manufacturer. So today, we thought we’d share our insight regarding the differences and similarities between the Dynamic Gold R300 and Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.
Dynamic Gold R300 Shaft Overview
“There are two main differences between the Dynamic Gold R300 and the Dynamic Gold S300 shafts…”
Namely, weight and flex. The Dynamic Gold R300 comes in only one weight class: 127 grams. This is a regular flex steel shaft that is extremely popular among pros and amateur golfers alike.
In terms of performance, we noticed that the Dynamic Gold R300 shaft gave slightly higher launch angles than the Dynamic Gold S300. And since the Dynamic Gold R300 is slightly lighter than the Dynamic Gold S300, it would generally be better for players with slower swing speeds.
Our testers noted that the Dynamic Gold R300 had a very smooth transition and a slight, mid kick. Nothing too jarring; but just enough to let you feel the activity of the shaft.
Dynamic Gold S300 Shaft Overview
“The Dynamic Gold S300 is also a steel iron shaft that comes in stiff flex.”
The Dynamic Gold S300 is also a 130 gram shaft so it’s slightly heavier than the Dynamic Gold R300. The S300 feels very stable throughout the transition. You can still feel a slight mid kick point; but there is more balance on your follow through.
The Dynamic Gold S300 produced straight shots on all but the most extreme mis-hits. The launch was also a bit lower than the Dynamic Gold R300. What we were most impressed with though was that the Dynamic Gold S300 produced low spin rates.
“If you have a more aggressive tempo, you will need a shaft that can take the load you dish out. That shaft is the Dynamic Gold S300. If you have a more deliberate tempo, a lighter shaft would suit you better. For that, we recommend the Dynamic Gold R300.”
Dynamic Gold R300 First Impressions
We were first taken with the naturally high launch. It instantly enhanced apex height for most of our testers.

The Dynamic Gold R300’s are ideal for irons. They allowed our testers to keep more balls in regulation and set up for birdie much more consistently.
Dynamic Gold R300 Driver Review
You’re not going to want to use these shafts with your driver. They don’t load properly if you have a driver club head speed anywhere near 100 MPH.
Dynamic Gold S300 First Impressions
The first thing that an experienced golfer will notice about this shaft is the minimal life.
It doesn’t vary much in terms of kick point whether you give it a full swing or use it on a knockdown shot.
Key Features & Performance
The variable wall design is the most important feature. It’s what gives the Dynamic Gold S300 a high bend point while still imparting consistency across almost all club heads. The performance of this shaft is marked by strong ball flight and low spin.
Dynamic Gold S300 Wedges Review
The Dynamic Gold S300 works amazingly with wedges. So long as you use the right flex for your swing speed, you will get an amazing amount of control and accuracy out of this shaft.
Dynamic Gold S300 Irons Review
Again, amazing control and accuracy. Our only gripe with using the Dynamic Gold S300 with smaller irons is that spin is naturally muted. Of course, you can combat that by pairing the Dynamic Gold S300 with irons that have robust groove design; but it’s still something to take note of.
Dynamic Gold S300 Driver Review
You’re only going to want to use the Dynamic Gold S300 with your driver if you are consistently getting club head speeds of 100+ MPH.
But if you are, you can expect neutral balance and a piercing shot trajectory.
