Titleist TSR2 Vs Taylormade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood Comparison
Titleist TSR2 fairway has a sleek, sophisticated look while the Taylormade Stealth 2 fairway wood has a more modern aesthetic.
But how do they perform? Find out in the following comparison.
Titleist TSR2 Fairway Wood Overview
“The Titleist TSR2 fairway wood comes in 15, 16.5, 18 and 21 degree loft versions.”
The TSR2 has a classic fairway wood shape, low/forward CG and an adjustable hosel.
The hosel allows for 16 unique loft/lie combinations which makes this a very versatile wood. Off the tee, I was averaging just under 200 yards with the TSR2 fairway.
It launches high; but the spin numbers are middling. As a result, I was getting very nice total distance thanks to the extra rollout.
The TSR2 won’t help newbies land the green by any means. But it does offer really nice distance for pretty much any player.
Taylormade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood Overview
“The Stealth 2 comes in 15, 16.5, 18, 21 and 24 degrees of loft.”
It has a generous 185cc head as well. But what I found striking about the Stealth 2 is the squat face.
It looks a bit more like a hybrid than it does a fairway wood. The shallower face profile gives it a boost in lateral forgiveness.
That coupled with the C300 face material makes for excellent ball speed.
The entire face is viable on this club. I was producing favorable lies off the tee and deck even when I missed the sweet spot.
“The Taylormade Stealth 2 fairway wood is definitely the better buy if you tend to use the entire face. It’s remarkably forgiving.
The Titleist TSR2 is for those seeking maximum distance for those long par 3’s or maybe even reachable par 5’s…if you can put some arch on your shots.”

Titleist TSR2 Fairway Wood First Impressions
I couldn’t believe how easy this club was to hit.
Of course well-struck shots went far but it was the off-centre hits that really impressed.
The TSR2 showed impressive distance and straightness on shots that I would have expected to be short and way off-line.
Taylormade Stealth 2 Fairway Woods – First Impressions
“Our first impression of the Taylormade Stealth 2 fairway woods was that they didn’t really change much from the last Stealth offering.”
And while this assessment was generally astute, we can’t fault Taylormade for it. That’s because what they did change was how forgiving the Stealth fairway woods are. Forgiveness and feel have definitely been improved since the original Stealth Fairway woods and that’s really what high handicap players will be looking for.
Taylormade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood Family
“The Standard Taylormade Stealth 2 fairway woods will be a great option for mid and high handicap players.”
The Taylormade Stealth 2 Plus fairway woods are the only ones that don’t have a C300 face construction. Instead, Taylormade used titanium, which isn;t bad; but it just doesn;t feel as responsive as the C300 steel faces that the standard and HD versions have. The HD version has the biggest head though at 200cc (3 wood).
