Diamana ZF Vs Fujikura Ventus Comparison

Diamana ZF Vs Fujikura Ventus

In the following comparison I will be examining the differences between the Diamana ZF and Fujikura Ventus shafts.

Diamana ZF Overview

Mitsubishi Diamana ZF Shaft

“The Diamana ZF comes in R2, regular, stiff, and tour extra stiff flex at 40g, 50g, 60g, 70g and 80g weight classes.”

The Diamana ZF is a fairly high torque shaft – especially compared to the Ventus shaft. As a result, the kick feels livelier.

The Diamana ZF also launches higher at almost any weight class compared to the Ventus shaft.

There are also more lightweight options with the Diamana ZF. For example, the lightest Diamana ZF shaft is 44g while the lightest Ventus shaft (the Ventus Blue 5) is 58g.

The Diamana ZF shaft feels faster through transition but it lacks control.

When you load up heavy on the Diamana ZF, you should expect high spin rates and erratic dispersion.

Fujikura Ventus Overview

Fujikura Ventus Blue 5

“The Ventus series comes in regular, stiff, extra stiff and tour stiff flex. There are also 50g, 60g, 70g, 80g, 90g and 100g weight classes.”

Right off the bat, you can see that the Venus series offers more heavy weight options for powerful swingers. I liked that the Ventus shafts felt stiffer in the tips than the Diamana ZF’s as well.

So even in the lighter weight classes, the Ventus shafts produced tighter dispersion and a better feeling of control when you load up on them.

Again, even if you choose a 50g Ventus shaft, the torque is going to be lower compared to 50g Diamana ZF shafts so there’s more accuracy to be had from the Ventus shafts.

“Unless you absolutely need maximum club head and ball speed above all else, I think the Fujikura Ventus shafts offer better performance than the Diamana ZF’s. Even

Mitsubishi Diamana ZF First Impressions

Mitsubishi Diamana ZF Shaft1

We were really excited to test the Mitsubishi Diamana ZF shafts because some of us actually game the Mitsubishi Diamana Blue or White shafts.

After just a couple of swings, we could tell that the Mitsubishi Diamana ZF was the perfect bridge between the Diamana Blue and Diamana White.

Key Features & Performance

The Mitsubishi Diamana ZF is made using a combination of boron fiber and MR70 carbon fiber.

This combination is what makes the Mitsubishi Diamana ZF so active and so stable. The stiff tip area also works to increase club head MOI.

Mitsubishi Diamana ZF Driver Review

You get good distance from the tee. Throughout our test session, we never once saw the Mitsubishi Diamana ZF produce a hook.

Mitsubishi Diamana ZF Fairway Wood Review

Off the deck the launch properties stay consistent: mid-low launch with a very gentle draw.

Spin rates were still low from the fairway; but there was an increased danger of strong diversion.

Taylormade Ventus Blue First Impressions

Our first impression of the Taylormade Ventus Blue shaft was that it looked pretty nice.

It has a mainly blue color scheme (big surprise) with silver appointments that would fit the aesthetic of a wide variety of Taylormade driver heads.

Key Features & Performance

The key technology here is the pitch 70 carbon fiber construction. We have to imagine that this material is what gives the Taylormade Ventus Blue its incredible stability and tight shot dispersion.

Taylormade Ventus Blue Driver Review

The Taylormade Ventus Blue works great as a driver shaft if you are seeking better accuracy.

Taylormade Ventus Blue Fairway Wood Review

If you are having trouble controlling spin with your fairway woods, the Taylormade Ventus Blue could certainly be of service.

Taylormade Ventus Blue Hybrid Review

Not ideal for use with hybrids simply because of the length.

Who Should Buy it?

The Mitsubishi Diamana ZF would actually suit the needs of a wide variety of players and swing types.

With five weight classes to choose from, you can score an effective shaft no matter what your swing speed or tempo is like.

And of course, it is a great choice for powerful swingers who demand high club head MOI.

Who Should Buy it?

The obvious answer would be high handicappers who are looking to gain more distance by driving the ball straighter.

But we will take it a bit further by saying that the Taylormade Ventus Blue would also be a great choice for low handicappers who want to maximize distance by muting nearly all side-spin.

If you like low-spinning drives, you have to try this shaft; just be aware that workability is almost nil.
