Callaway Paradym Vs Callaway Rogue ST Max Fairway Wood Comparison Overview

Callaway Paradym Vs Callaway Rogue ST Max Fairway Wood

It seems that the Callaway Rogue ST Max line of fairway woods was followed up pretty quickly with the Paradym fairway woods.

And in reality, they were released just a year apart. As such, there is a lot of feature overlap between these two models.

In the following comparison review, we are going to help you decipher the subtle differences between these woods that on paper, are so similar.

It should be noted that each series has three different models but for this specific comparison, we tested the Callaway Rogue ST Max against the Paradym X.

Callaway Paradym Fairway Wood Overview

Callaway Paradym Fairway Wood

“One of the most important differences between the Callaway Rogue ST Max and the Paradym X fairway woods is that the Paradym X features a new forged carbon sole.”

Now we’re not sure how you forge a material like carbon fiber. What we do know is that the overall weight of the Callaway Paradym fairway wood is less than the Callaway Rogue ST Max.

Part of this has to do with the carbon fiber sole material. But it also has to do with a lighter 23-gram tungsten weight in the Callaway Paradym fairway wood.

The idea was to make the Paradym lighter and faster and Callaway definitely succeeded at that.

Most of our testers were getting faster club head speeds with the Paradym than they were with the Callaway Rogue ST Max.

Callaway Rogue ST Max Overview

“The Callaway Rogue ST Max has many of the same features as the Callaway Paradym.”

For instance, both models have the revised “Batwing” jailbreak bar design that stiffens the head from crown-to-sole and from heel-to-toe.

Both the Paradym and Callaway Rogue ST Max fairway woods also have C300 maraging steel faces.

The Callaway Rogue ST Max features a 27-gram tungsten weight which is heavier than the Paradym weight. But both weights are placed forward in the club head to reduce side spin.

Overall though, the Callaway Rogue ST Max was a bit heavier and more cumbersome than the Paradym X.

“The Callaway Paradym fairway wood played longer for almost all of our testers.

And while both woods were helpful for producing straighter shots off the deck, our testers noted that the Callaway Paradym X was actually more forgiving to mis-hits.

They are similar in most respects, but we liked the distance gains we got with the Paradym.”

The Callaway Rogue ST MAX definitely lives up to being the longest fairway wood they have created and it’s also known for it’s super stability and forgiveness.

Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods – First Impressions

Callaway Paradym Fairway Wood2

“With just one glance, you can tell that this was a fairway wood built to modern specifications.”

What we mean is that they bear more of a resemblance to modern hybrid clubs than any other Callaway wood we have seen before.

They were certainly built with mid and high handicappers in mind – although the Triple Diamond version definitely has something to offer lower handicap players.

Upon swinging the Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods, we were impressed with the lowered spin and moderate increase in carry distance for most of our testers.

Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods Family

“The standard Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods are great for mid and high handicappers.”

The Paradym X fairway woods have a slight draw bias so they would be the best choice for players struggling to fix a slice.

The Triple Diamond Paradym fairway woods have the most classic-looking profile and the deepest faces.

This is the best choice if you are able to work the ball and want to attack long approaches more aggressively.

Callaway Rogue ST Fairway First Impression

Straight away we could see that the Rogue ST MAX lives up to what Callaway has said, it is definitely the longest fairway wood we have ever hit.

You would expect the ball to come out lower and run further, but that is not the case, the ball launched high, and seems to go forever.

The Tungsten Speed Cartridge definitely plays a part in that, and the newly designed Jailbreak is outstanding, the fairway wood was incredibly forgiving, we could barely tell the difference between good and bad shots.

Similar to the TaylorMade Stealth, we were disappointed in the Rogue ST MAX not being adjustable.

Callaway Rogue ST Fairway Family

Callaway do have two additional models in this range, the Rogue ST MAX D and Rogue ST LS.

The Rogue ST MAX D is their draw bias head, how they have done this is making the face slightly closed, upright lie angle, and additional weight in the heel. Anyone that struggles with a draw should consider this model.

The other model is the Rogue ST LS, it is the low spin option. They placed the tungsten weight further towards the face of the club, this brings down the spin drastically. This is definitely for the better player.

We are quite disappointed that all three models do not have adjustability, you would expect the Rogue ST LS being the more players club to have some sort of adjustability.

Who are the Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods for?

Callaway Paradym Fairway Wood3

“Luckily, there is a Callaway Paradym Fairway Wood for every type of player – except maybe scratch players.”

The Triple Diamond Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods are great for low handicappers and the distance they produce is market-leading, they are considerably longer than the stealth 2 fairway wood.

Other than that, the Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods and the Paradym X fairway woods are great for mid to high handicappers who still get most of their distance from higher launch angles.

The Callaway Paradym Fairway Woods and the Paradym X fairway woods are also very forgiving on toe and heel misses.

The C300 maraging steel faces give plenty of feedback too – you know exactly when you mis-hit with any of these woods.
