Titleist TSi2 Vs Titleist TS2 Driver Comparison Overview

Titleist TSi2 Vs Titleist TS2 Driver

Shakespeare once penned the famous line, “what’s in a name?”

And that was a phrase that came up in my mind frequently when testing the Titleist TSi2 and the Titleist TS2 drivers side-by-side.

All that separates these two drivers in name is a tiny little lower-case “i.” So is there anything more significant that separates these drivers performance-wise? Read on to find out.

Titleist TSi2 Driver Overview

“At address, the Titleist TSi2 looks a lot like the Titleist TS2 driver.”

Both clubs have that stretched out rear head section and a glossy black crown. They also have the same head volume (460cc).

Even the face of the Titleist TSi2 bears some of the same markings as the original Titleist TS2 driver.

However, the face has actually been upgraded to aerospace-grade titanium. During our testing, we all remarked at how consistent the Titleist TSi2 was.

As long as the mis-hits weren’t egregious, it didn’t matter where we made contact – low face, high face, heel, toe.

Smash factor stayed in the 1.3-1.5 range for our testing party. The Titleist TSi2 also provides crystal-clear feedback and the stock Tensei AV Raw Blue shaft didn’t send jolts up our arms on mis-hits.

It was also very easy to stay in the middle of the fairway with this driver. Spin rates were low which had a very beneficial impact on shot dispersion.

Titleist Tsi2 First Impressions

At first, the Titleist Tsi2 doesn’t look like much. But it’s a driver that has to be swung to be believed.

One of the things that really helps bump this driver up a few points is the adjustable hosel.

It is no secret in the golf world that the majority of tour pros that aren’t sponsored are using Titleist and it is the majority of the winners too.

The Tsi2 provides an excellent blend of forgiveness, feel and distance to take your game to the next level.

This customization of loft and lie angles adds instant value to this driver.

However, it’s the feel of this driver at impact that really steals the show.

The Tsi Family

The Titleist Tsi2 is the most ofrgiving driver in the Tsi fanily which also includes the Tsi1, Tsi3 and Tsi4. The Tsi4 is for lower handicap players and features a 425cc head.

The Tsi3 would be best for mid to low handicap players and the Tsi1 is a lightweight version but produces considerable spin off the tee.

Who is the Titleist TS2 for?

TS2 driver

“The Titleist TS2 is perfect for players who want reliable, consistent distance.”

It’s not the most accurate driver and spin spikes may cause your ball to veer off-line more often than you would like to admit.

But your ball/club head speed will be consistently high which, more often than not, will result in improved carry.
