Titleist Tsi3 Vs. PXG 0211 Driver Comparison And Review

What we liked most at first glance about the Titleist Tsi3 and the PXG 0211 drivers is that they both sport a clean, classic look.

In a time when it seems that every club manufacturer is making drivers jam-packed with features that give them almost a mutant look, it’s nice to see 2 drivers that are keeping things relatively simple.

But as any golfer knows; looks aren’t everything. It’s really about performance so we wanted to see how these two classic-looking drivers handled themselves across key performance metrics.

Titleist Tsi3 Driver Overview

The Titleist Tsi3 is an incredibly workable driver that would be a great choice for any player looking for a club that can get them to where they want to be on the fairway and who isn’t so much concerned with distance or forgiveness.

Not that the Titleist Tsi3 won’t give you much in the way of distance – you just have to be able to nail the sweet spot more often than not.

If you can, you’ll have no problem breaking the 220 yard mark and beyond.

But where the Tsi3 really shines though is in the workability and accuracy department.

You get a 5-position movable weight (extreme heel, regular heel, neutral, regular toe and extreme toe) to go along with an adjustable hosel.

The Tsi3 allows for amazing shot shape variety and really allowed the better players in our testing party to attack each hole strategically.

PXG 0211 Driver Overview

The PXG 0211 will be better-suited to players who do need a little help with forgiveness off the tee and actually played a bit longer than the Tsi3.

While you don’t get as much workability and accuracy out of the PXG 0211; higher handicap players will feel more comfortable with this driver.

That’s because it produces almost effortless ball speed thanks to the titanium alloy face and rear/low head oriented weighting.

There is also a polymer insert near the rear of the head of the PXG 0211 which dampens vibration and produces a deep, rich sound.

The Titleist Tsi3 and the PXG 0211 drivers both keep things clean but perform in almost opposite ways.

The Tsi3 would be great for mid to low handicappers who have moved on to strategic ball placement off the tee while the PXG 0211 would be a good choice for anyone seeking more forgiveness and distance off the tee.

Titleist TSi3 Driver – First Impressions

The Titleist TSi3 driver has a clean design that makes this club an instant hit for Titleist fans.

We couldn’t way to get out to the range and play with the sliding weight. This club really allows for optimal ball placement.

You will also notice that the 460cc head shape is very aerodynamic. You can almost feel the absence of drag on your downswing.

If you are someone that is consistent in their swing, the Titleist TSi3 is an excellent option to consider.

The Tsi Family

The Tsi family also includes the Tsi 2 driver.

The Tsi 2 features a lower CG than the Titleist TSi3 driver for higher launch angles.

The Tsi4 on the other hand has a 425CC head and produces the lowest spin of the bunch.

PXG 0211 First Impressions

We were excited to see an adjustable hosel in what is essentially meant to be an entry-level PXG driver (if such a thing exists).

After the first swing, we were taken aback at how soft and smooth this driver felt. We credit this to the railed sole design which increase MOI but also adds stability by bracing the heel and toe.

The honeycombed polymer insert in the head doesn’t hurt either. Plus, the fact that you can shape shots better with the adjustable hosel actually makes this driver a great value.

Titleist TSi3 Selling Points

  • Aerospace-grade titanium face
  • 5-position sliding weight
  • Adjustable hosel
  • Crown to sole MOI
  • Low spin
  • Medium launch

PXG 0211 Selling Points

  • Exceptional MOI
  • Titanium alloy face
  • Adjustable hosel
  • Honeycomb polymer insert
  • Connective rails on the sole
  • Single heel-oriented weight port enhances forgiveness

Who Are The TSi3 Drivers For

This driver is best for players who don’t have to worry so much about accuracy and have moved on to shaping their drives.

You get a ton of custom draw and lie options with this driver.

You will still have to have a pretty good swing speed if you want to get maximum distance from this driver; but if you don’t have a fast swing speed, the other drivers in the Tsi family will be better suited to your needs anyway.

PXG 0211 Driver – Who is it for?

The PXG 0211 driver is actually more forgiving than the 0811 so it would be more suitable for mid handicap players that need a little help with shot shaping.

We love the fact that PXG paired a high forgiveness driver with an adjustable hosel. While this driver still isn’t as forgiving as some Callaway and Taylormade entries, it is one of the most forgiving drivers that PXG has ever produced.

All in all we would say that this would be a suitable driver for a mid handicapper that already knows how to shape shots based on the nature of the hole.
