Taylormade Qi10 Vs Taylormade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood Comparison

In today’s comparison, we pit the penultimate Taylormade fairway wood against the company’s latest offering in 2024, the Qi10 Fairway Wood.

Taylormade Qi10 Fairway Wood Overview

Taylormade Qi10 Fairway Wood5

“The Taylormade Qi10 features an infinity carbon crown, Twist face technology, V-steel sole panel and Speed Pocket.”

Compared to the Stealth 2, the Taylormade Qi10 has a much cleaner-looking sole thanks to a streamlined V-steel panel design. The Taylormade Qi10 also has a black/blue color scheme as opposed to black/red.

The Taylormade Qi10 yielded very tight dispersion and distance that was at least equal to the Stealth to. It currently retails for $350.

Taylormade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood Overview

The Stealth 2 has inverted cone technology, 3D carbon crown, laser-etched alignment line and a rounded leading edge.

The crown of the Stealth 2 provides more of a contrast to the face than the infinity carbon crown of the Taylormade Qi10. The size and shape of the Stealth 2’s head give it a forgiving look overall.

The Stealth 2 plays long and is very forgiving on low-face strikes. But my average off-line divergence was greater than with the Taylormade Qi10. The Stealth 2 sells for $300.

While very close-performing, the new Taylormade Qi10 fairway wood brings more accuracy to the table.

“The Taylormade Stealth 2 fairway woods have a very nice feel and launch high. A solid option for high handicappers.”

Taylormade Qi10 Fairway Wood – First Impressions

Taylormade Qi10 Fairway Wood4

“My first shot with the Taylormade Qi10 was a low-face hit but you couldn’t tell from the launch monitor data.”

That low face strike still ended up producing 149.7 MPH ball speed, 92 feet of height and kept the spin rate at 3200 RPMs. And as I got more used to swinging this fairway wood, those numbers only improved.

Now the overall launch of the Taylormade Qi10 fairway wood was pretty low for me which is what I like.

But I can see this being a problem for players who get most of their distance from hang time. Still, you can’t complain with tight dispersion, at least adequate distance and great ball speed.

Another thing I noticed almost immediately was the feel at impact. The Taylormade Qi10 fairway wood feels super solid – as if face deflection is kept at near non-existent levels.

As a result, ball flight was stable and consistent throughout my testing so long as I wasn’t hitting hosel rockets.

And while I think the Taylormade Qi10 tour Fairway wood would probably be a better fit for me, I really liked my initial experience with the Taylormade Qi10 and I think a lot of mid handicappers will too.

Taylormade Stealth 2 Fairway Woods – First Impressions

“Our first impression of the Taylormade Stealth 2 fairway woods was that they didn’t really change much from the last Stealth offering.”

And while this assessment was generally astute, we can’t fault Taylormade for it. That’s because what they did change was how forgiving the Stealth fairway woods are. Forgiveness and feel have definitely been improved since the original Stealth Fairway woods and that’s really what high handicap players will be looking for.

Taylormade Stealth 2 Fairway Wood Family

“The Standard Taylormade Stealth 2 fairway woods will be a great option for mid and high handicap players.”

The Taylormade Stealth 2 Plus fairway woods are the only ones that don’t have a C300 face construction. Instead, Taylormade used titanium, which isn;t bad; but it just doesn;t feel as responsive as the C300 steel faces that the standard and HD versions have. The HD version has the biggest head though at 200cc (3 wood).

Who is the Taylormade Qi10 Fairway Wood for?

Taylormade Qi10 Fairway Wood5

“The Taylormade Qi10 fairway wood would be an excellent choice for players who want to do away with their cut spin.”

I was very impressed with the low spin numbers whether I was hitting the ball flush or missing towards the toe.

Side spin was greatly reduced on mis-hits which kept my balls on the fairway and contributed to the overall tight shot dispersion.

So if you are struggling with accuracy off the tee or even off the deck, the Taylormade Qi10 fairway wood can certainly help.

The standard Taylormade Qi10 fairway wood is out now and retails for $350.
