Taylormade M6 Driver Overview
The Taylormade M6 is essentially the more affordable version of the SIM driver but has a lot of the same features.
For instance, the Taylormade M6 driver has the “inertia generator” in the form of a 46 gram weight that is placed way in the back of the head. The advantage of this feature is that it helps spread energy to the face of the club in all directions.
That means you will get more ball speed than normal even if you strike the face near the toe or heel. There is also a premium carbon sole that brings the head weight down. This is a very comfortable driver to work with and great for mid to high handicappers.
The M6 is also joined by the M4 which is a more stripped down version and the M2 which isn’t as forgiving but better for lower handicappers.
Callaway Mavrik Driver Overview
The Callaway Mavrik was designed to help mid handicappers swing faster and get more ball speed.
The Callaway Mavrik sports a sweet titanium face that gives it the feel of a more premium driver. We would say it’s less forgiving than the Taylormade M6 overall; even though both produce about the same spin rates off the tee.
At the end of the day, the Mavrik driver was only longer for our faster swing speed testers but the Mavrik Max and Mavrik Sub Zero are sure to be more congenial to beginners and high handicappers. The standard Mavrik is also the only one in the family that lacks an adjustable weight.
Both the Taylormade M6 and Mavrik drivers offer a great deal of value – you just have to know what types of players each one suits. The Taylormade M6 will be better for high handicappers with slower swing speeds while the Callaway Mavrik is more for people in the swing speed range of 90-95MPH.

Mavrik Driver – First Impressions
Once you get passed the bright colors and attractive design, you can immediately see how light and wieldy the Mavrik drivers really are.
The face on the club is huge and it gives you the confidence you need to let the driver rip, even on the first tee with a crowd gathered to watch.The face is also ultra thin, ultra light special steel which sends the ball into orbit on contact.
Two internal jailbreak bars on under side of the club hold everything together by connecting the sole with the crown and adding extra stability, feel, consistency and distance.The shape of the driver is also aerodynamic and like everything with the clubs, focused on more swing speed.
The Different Mavrik Driver Versions:
The Mavrik is for your average player or mid handicapper, medium levels of forgiveness, and mid spin. This one has a standard launch angle too.
The Mavrik max is similar with more forgiveness and a higher ball flight for higher handicappers
The Mavrik Pro has a 450cc head, less forgiveness and spin and higher emphasis on distance for low handicappers and fast swingers.

Who is the Taylormade M6 for?
The Taylormade M6 would be a great choice for high to mid handicappers.
You get a good amount of distance and forgiveness help with the Taylormade M6 driver. The twist face does make it difficult to work. So just like with the M4 driver, the M6 is not an ideal choice for more seasoned players.
We also really like how the weight pulls your swing down ever so slightly to produce high launch. The extreme rear weight also helps distribute energy from your swing all over the face so you still get pretty impressive ball speed when you miss the sweet spot.
