Yes, right off the bat we would say that the Ping G425 is an excellent driver for intermediate players who don’t have much trouble finding the sweet spot but who could still use some help straightening out their bias.
The G425 has a movable tungsten weight that can be set in the draw, neutral and fade position. We had heard that this driver was accurate, but what we didn’t know was how smooth it felt. When we tested it, we were very impressed by the forged titanium face of the G425.
In fact, there is titanium all over this club; in the crown and in the internal bracing bars. This club feels great and will allow you to fine-tune your shot shape to adjust to course and wind conditions.
Taylormade M6 Driver Overview
The reputation of the Taylormade M6 is that it is very forgiving.
And we can confidently say that the rumors are true. The heavy rear weight allows for more swing energy to be preserved even if you miss the sweet spot. The twist face architecture will also help some players correct their slice. We were finding it very easy to land dead-center in the fairway with this driver.
The Taylormade M6 even played a bit longer than the G425. It was producing 269 yards on average while the G425 was yielding an average of 265 yards. If you are looking for versatility comparable to the G425 though, the Taylormade M1 and M2 drivers both feature adjustable CG weights.
The Ping G425 definitely brings the superior feel and is more versatile than the Taylormade M6. The Taylormade M6 on the other hand plays longer and straighter.

The Club is pretty understated in it’s design, it’s all black with some white logo writing and you can immediately notice the adjustable weighting in the back that can iron out any inherent flaws in your swing.
The weight on the back is tungsten and weighs 26g, the ultra light internal dragon fly crown allows for more weight in the back and face which is a forged insert, delivering incredible ball speed and accuracy.
The head is packing huge MOI of over 10,000, and it incorprates and ultralight hosel insert and internal ribbing for unrivalled feel, forgiveness and competitive distance.

The Taylormade M6 certainly looks more intimidating than the M4at first glance but once you pick it up you can feel how light and wieldy it truly is.
The Taylormade M6 features a carbon sole to help offset the additional 46 grams of weight placed in the back of the head. It was very comfortable to swing and we got an instant boost in distance.

Who is the Taylormade M6 for?
The Taylormade M6 would be a great choice for high to mid handicappers.
You get a good amount of distance and forgiveness help with the Taylormade M6 driver. The twist face does make it difficult to work. So just like with the M4 driver, the M6 is not an ideal choice for more seasoned players.
We also really like how the weight pulls your swing down ever so slightly to produce high launch. The extreme rear weight also helps distribute energy from your swing all over the face so you still get pretty impressive ball speed when you miss the sweet spot.
