Callaway Paradym Vs Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Hybrid
One year after the release of the original Paradym, Callaway has launched the new Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke hybrid line.
Which is better? Read on to find out.
Callaway Paradym Hybrid Overview
“The original Paradym features batwing Jailbreak bracing, low/forward tungsten cartridge and adjustable hosel.”
The shaping is very similar to the new Paradym Ai Smoke hybrid. You have a low face profile and a shape that is definitely reminiscent of a hybrid and not a fairway wood.
The forward-positioned tungsten weight also makes for surprisingly low spin rates while the adjustable hosel allows you to loft the ball up or down. The Paradym hybrid sells for $270.
Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Hybrid Overview
“The Paradym Ai Smoke features Smart Face technology, pronounced sole camber and tungsten weight cartridge.”
Compared to the original Paradym hybrid, the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke has a slightly larger shape; though the profile is similar. This makes it look extremely forgiving at address.
And with the same spin and loft properties of the original Paradym, but with an upgraded face, the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke plays longer and is more forgiving. It retails for $280.
“With only a $10 price difference, the longer, more forgiving Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke hybrid is definitely the better buy.”

“The Callaway Paradym Hybrid seems to solidify the overarching motif of the Paradym series: straight flight and accuracy.”

“The Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke hybrid brings the distance and offers a powerful feel at impact.”
Callaway Paradym Hybrid – First Impressions
“We were glad that all the logos and coloring were left on the sole.”
The crown looks clean at address which is good because so many new Callaway clubs have honestly looked a bit busy and distracting.
The Callaway Paradym Hybrid has a reassuring look at address as well because of the extended toe-to-heel length.
Callaway Paradyme Family
“If you’re looking for help with your slice, check out the Callaway Paradym X Hybrid.”
The Callaway Paradym X Hybrid is weighted to have a semi-draw bias. It also has more offset than the standard Callaway Paradym Hybrid.
For these reasons, it may be even more useful if what you really need is forgiveness.
Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke Hybrid – First Impressions
“I liked the forgiving look at address right away.”
But mostly, I loved the way this hybrid felt. After my very first swing I simply said, “whoah.” That’s because the face feels super reactive – another thing Callaway doesn’t really hype which I feel they should.
The face feels very powerful even when you miss the sweet spot and my launch monitor numbers confirmed the feel.
I was averaging a ball speed of 136.1 MPH with the 3H. Of course, some of that reduction in spin has to do with the forward weighting cartridge on the bottom of the sole.
Forward weighting almost always mutes spin and that is certainly the case with the Callaway Paradym Ai Smoke hybrid.

Who is the Callaway Paradym Hybrid For?
“We would say that this hybrid would be best for mid handicappers.”
We’re not sure what Callaway was thinking when they suggested that the Callaway Paradym Hybrid was best for mid to low handicappers.
Almost all of our low handicap testers mentioned that the Callaway Paradym Hybrid was pretty much unworkable.
And while it’s a good hybrid for moderate swing speed players, the launch is actually a bit too high to be favorable for players with 90+ MPH swing speeds.
Instead, the Callaway Paradym Hybrid seems ideal for mid handicappers with some good usefulness to high handicappers as well.
The Callaway Paradym Hybrid would also be a good hybrid to consider if what you need is straight flight.
The face feels really solid; but also a bit lifeless at impact. But we can overlook that in light of the stellar accuracy and comfortable turf interaction.
