Titleist Tsi3 Hybrid vs Titleist Tsi1 Hybrid Comparison Overview

Titleist is well known for their golf ball, the all famous ProV 1. Over the years they have acquired a few partners in Bob Vokey for their wedges and Scotty Cameron for their putters.

We always felt the rest of their range which would include irons and metalwoods are below average. Focusing on what you are good at is sometimes not a bad thing.

However things have changed, the new TSi range is phenomenal, it has that classic Titleist look, but it packs a mighty punch. From their irons all the way to their drivers, the TSi range is definitely something to consider.

We will be covering their TSi1 and TSi3 hybrids in this article.

Titleist Tsi1 Hybrid Overview

The TSi1 is aimed at players with moderate swing speeds. It has a large, lightweight design, together with a deep and low CG for high launch, it is designed to enhance stability and speed across the entire face.

The ultra-lightweight design is prominent from clubhead to grip, the TSi1 hybrid has been engineered and weighted throughout the whole club to have maximum launch and distance.

The TSi1 hybrid has optimized weight distribution, with it’s deep CG in specific locations it helps you to generate the launch and spin needed to carry the ball further and land and stop on green better than ever, while maximizing off-center strikes through high MOI in the head.

The traditional hybrid shape has a unique aerodynamic design to reduce drag, allowing golfers to naturally generate more clubhead speed for increased distance.

The TSi1 Hybrid uses Titleist’s patented SureFit Hosel, this gives you 16 independent loft and lie settings, this allows you to dial in your loft and shot shape more than ever.

Titleist Tsi3 Hybrid Overview

The TSi3 hybrid is going to be aimed towards your better player. It has an iron-like shape that gives you control of trajectory and shot shape.

The TSi3 features a 455 forged face. This is the fastest hybrid face Titleist has ever made that delivers faster ball speeds and increased forgiveness.

Just like the TSi1, the TSi3 hybrid features Titleist’s patented SureFit Hosel with 16 independent loft and lie settings, in addition it has a head weight adjustability, this creates a more consistent and penetrating ball flight.

TSi3 hybrid models offer SureFit CG Track Technology, it has three positions – Toe, Neutral and Heel, this allows you  to adjust clubhead CG and fine-tune ball flight.

Their featured shaft selection gives you four world-class options to help you dial in your flight and spin even more.

Titleist Tsi1 Hybrid First Impressions

Our first impression of the Titleist TSi1 hybrid was it looked very simple, but boy did it pack a punch. There are no fancy bells and whistles, or colors and lines.

It sets up extremely well behind the ball, which gives you confidence right from the beginning.

It may be simple in looks, but it is definitely not simple in results. It was so easy to get the ball up in the air, even on poorly struck shots, it seemed like the ball still got up in the air and traveled a considerable distance.

We really loved the sound and feel of the TSi1, again similar to the looks, very simple, not too loud or too dull, not too hard or too soft.

When you first pick up the club, you can feel the light weight of it, and when swinging the club the speed you generate is astounding. This obviously equates to awesome distance.

It only has 4 loft options, similar products in other manufacturers have more, however the adjustable SureFit Hosel gives you the versatility that the other game improvements models don’t have.

The Titleist TSi1 Hybrid Family

As you would guess there is also a TSi3 model, you can read more about it in this article, so no need to dive into details here.

There is another model in this family, the TSi2 and as you would presume it falls right in between the TSi1 and TSi3 models.

The TSi2 is more of a forgiving model like the TSi1, this would suit a mid handicap golfer. It still has a low spin profile, but with its high launch properties it makes it easy to hit.

It has 3 loft options with the SureFit Hosel system. Titliest say it is for “Players with a sweeping delivery seeking a forgiving long iron replacement.”

Titleist Tsi3 Hybrid First Impressions

The smaller head profile, almost iron like, is noticeable straight away. It is a lot smaller than the other two models in the range.

We actually liked it a lot, the smaller head shape is definitely something to consider as it may be off putting to some players.

The 455 forged face makes a big difference in the TSi3, it is a lot softer off the face, and the ball speed and distance is noticeable from the get go.

The shaft options are great, after finding the right shaft and dialing in the SureFit Hosel, the ability to control and shape the ball is magnificent. It feels like you are hitting a forgiving iron.

Who is the Titleist TSi1 Hybrid For?

The Titleist TSi1 hybrid is mainly for the mid to high handicap player. It is incredibly easy to launch with plenty of distance and forgiveness.

If you are someone that likes traditional looking golf clubs then look no further. The TSi1 is probably the most traditional looking club on the market, and don’t worry you won’t have to give anything up with regards to distance and forgiveness, it definitely competes with the best in the market.

Even though we like the SureFit Hosel, a lot of high handicap and beginner players tend to stay away from loft sleeves as they get too confusing, it is definitely something to consider when purchasing this club.
