Titleist TS2 Vs. PXG 0211 Driver Comparison And Review

The Titleist TS2 driver is known for having a solid feel and we can attest to that. When we tried it out for ourselves, we were getting straight shots and a solid feel on full swings.

However, the PXG 0211 also does a lot for the player who is after a solid feel and stable performance.

So which driver is better overall? Which can deliver stability while helping in other areas of performance as well. Find out in the following comparison article.

Titleist TS2 Driver Overview

The Titleist TS2 was designed for players with moderate to fast swing speeds.

In fact, if you don’t have at least a moderate swing speed, you won’t be able to get much distance out of this driver.

The less-advanced players in our testing party were struggling to squeeze 200 yards out of the TS2.

Instead, it was made for fast swing speeds and it’s apparent in the features of the TS2. The TS2 design emphasizes stability on hot impacts.

The crown is nice and stiff and the face provides a lot of rebound and resilience. Just don’t expect very much in the way of forgiveness with the TS2.

PXG 0211 Driver Overview

We liked the increased forgiveness and the stability of the PXG 0211 driver.

The crown of this driver has a carbon fiber center which is flanked by titanium wings out near the toe and heel.

We thought this was a brilliant design because you get the stiffness from the titanium where it counts the most while cutting down on weight with the carbon fiber.

The PXG 0211 provided at least as much stability on full swings as the TS2 and possibly had the nicer feel – although this was a matter of debate among our testing party.

What we do know is that the PXG 0211 will generate more distance than the TS2 – even if you have a slower swing speed.

On average, we were getting an extra 5 yards out of the PXG 0211 driver. The low and rear CG also make this driver better for beginners who are struggling to get high, straight shots.

In terms of stability, it was a wash between these two drivers. You will get a solid feel, control and straight shots on full swings from both of these drivers.

The PXG 0211 is the better driver because it offers more than just stability – namely distance, feel and forgiveness.

The PXG 0211 driver also features an adjustable hosel in a club that is a bit more forgiving than its 0811 counterpart.

Titleist Tsi2 First Impressions

At first, the Titleist Tsi2 doesn’t look like much. But it’s a driver that has to be swung to be believed.

One of the things that really helps bump this driver up a few points is the adjustable hosel.

It is no secret in the golf world that the majority of tour pros that aren’t sponsored are using Titleist and it is the majority of the winners too.

The Tsi2 provides an excellent blend of forgiveness, feel and distance to take your game to the next level.

This customization of loft and lie angles adds instant value to this driver.

However, it’s the feel of this driver at impact that really steals the show.

The Tsi Family

The Titleist Tsi2 is the most ofrgiving driver in the Tsi fanily which also includes the Tsi1, Tsi3 and Tsi4. The Tsi4 is for lower handicap players and features a 425cc head.

The Tsi3 would be best for mid to low handicap players and the Tsi1 is a lightweight version but produces considerable spin off the tee.

PXG 0211 First Impressions

We were excited to see an adjustable hosel in what is essentially meant to be an entry-level PXG driver (if such a thing exists).

After the first swing, we were taken aback at how soft and smooth this driver felt. We credit this to the railed sole design which increase MOI but also adds stability by bracing the heel and toe.

The honeycombed polymer insert in the head doesn’t hurt either. Plus, the fact that you can shape shots better with the adjustable hosel actually makes this driver a great value.

Titleist Tsi2 Selling Points

  • Aerospace grade titanium
  • Vertical MOI enhancements
  • Adjustable hosel
  • 460cc head
  • Aerodynamic head shape

PXG 0211 Selling Points

  • Exceptional MOI
  • Titanium alloy face
  • Adjustable hosel
  • Honeycomb polymer insert
  • Connective rails on the sole
  • Single heel-oriented weight port enhances forgiveness

Titleist Tsi2 – Who is it for?

The Titleist Tsi2 would be best for low to mid handicappers who want a great-feeling driver.

While some workability is lost in the architecture of the face and size of the head, there’s no denying the awesome feel and reaction of the face.

The forgiveness is there too. You will find that the Tsi2 will still yield impressive distance on shots around the sweet spot.

Tsi Drivers

All of the drivers in the Tsi family feature the same aerospace-grade titanium face construction.

However, the Tsi2 is probably the most congenial for beginners and high handicappers.

PXG 0211 Driver – Who is it for?

The PXG 0211 driver is actually more forgiving than the 0811 so it would be more suitable for mid handicap players that need a little help with shot shaping.

We love the fact that PXG paired a high forgiveness driver with an adjustable hosel. While this driver still isn’t as forgiving as some Callaway and Taylormade entries, it is one of the most forgiving drivers that PXG has ever produced.

All in all we would say that this would be a suitable driver for a mid handicapper that already knows how to shape shots based on the nature of the hole.
