Titleist GT3 Vs Titleist GT2 Driver
When it comes to drivers, Titleist are undoubtedly leading the market in terms of performance, sound, feel and the high percentage of tour golfers who use the brand without the need for sponsorship.
The GT2 and the GT3 are two of the latest releases and are set to target different types of golfers.
Titleist GT2 Overview
The Titleist GT2 is the most most forgiving in the range with the largest profile and a back weight that promotes a high launch and maximum stability across the face.
The Gt2 looks a little more sleek and compact than the TSR2 and its harder to tell the difference at address between the GT2 and GT3 than it was with the TSR2 and TSR3.
Titleist GT3 Overview
The Titleist GT3 is a little more sleek and compact than the GT2 and it has a ton of adjustability options from 16 loft and lie combinations and a back weight that comes in three weights and can be set to three locations in the back of the head to dial the club into your exact swing.
What’s New
Thermoformed Proprietary Matrix Polymer Crown
Both of these new drivers are using Titleists secret new polymer carbon for the crown. It wraps around the head and the heavy glue used to hold it in place is underneath the head which allows Titleist to lower the CG in both drivers.
The lighter weight allows Titleist to lower the CG and improves the aerodynamics of the driver, leading to around a 1mph gain in club speed over the older models.
Variable Face Technology Speed Ring
The TSR2 and 4 had the multi plateau VFT face and the TSR 3 had the speed ring face. With the new GT2 and GT3 drivers we have the VFT Speed ring in every driver and its more forgiving on off center shots, which is a boost for all golfers.
Looks, Sound And Feel
Titleist fans will be pleased to learn that despite introducing carbon to the design for the first time, the sound of the GT2 & 3 are still acoustically pleasing and sounds distinctly metallic and also boasting the signature powerful feel that Titleist are known for.
Performance GT3 VS TSR3
The GT3 is all about customization and the performance will change as you move the weight around and adjust the loft and lie with the Surefit system.
We were getting a higher launch with the GT2 driver and very slightly higher spin. It was also a little longer in terms of carry and total distance.
Both drivers are really close but the GT2 is slightly more forgiving and higher launching for those high to mid handicappers.
The GT3 will suit more consistent strikers in the mid to low handicap range.
Overall, two quality drivers that are leading our testing results in both 2024 and 2025.
Titleist GT3 Driver
In 20 Words or Less
The GT3 introduces a seamless carbon crown and improved face forgiveness while still remaining perfectly adjustable with improved performance.
Titleist GT3 – First Impressions
“It looks very similar to the TSR3 with a few changes underneath the club like a visual dial for the weight position you are currently in.”
The Titleist GT3 is the king of adjustability, the surefit hosel design has 16 different loft and lie options to choose from. There is also 5 different weight placement option low and to the rear of the club with 5 different weight options, 4g, 8g and 14gs.
Titleist have brought in thermoformed Carbon with a properietary matrix polymer material, which brings the weight down, improves aerodynamics and lowers the center of gravity as Titleist have managed to put the binding glue on the bottom of the club.
The face has also improved with a Variable Face Technology speed ring face which maintains that premium Titleist sound and feel that their customers love while also providing slightly more forgiveness on off center hits.
There are plenty of stock shaft options to choose from too so if you want to use this driver, best to get a fitting and get the club perfectly dialed.
We found with the TSR3 and now the GT3 that when mid to low handicappers get these drivers dialed in, it’s a tough job getting them out of their hands.
Overall, the club performs well. Increased distance, lower spin and a tighter dispersion due to the extra forgiveness off the face.
Titleist GT2 Driver
In 20 Words or Less
More Speed and more forgiveness than the already excellent TSR2. A quality all round driver for 2024 onwards.
Titliest GT2 – First Impressions
“The GT2 looks amazing with the gloss black coloring and we see the elongated head which is longer from back to from to keep the weight lower and further back..”
Titleist really dominated with the TSR2, so it was a big job to improve on it, but they have managed the job well. The best kept secret about the GT2 is the Proprietary Matrix Polymer crown which is hand finished to ensure no join lines and it rolls seamlessly into other parts of the club. Titleist say, this reduces drag, improves aerodynamic and also saves weight.
The saved weight is used in a split mass positioning system which keeps the cog low and deep. There is also a removable weight at the back of the head to dial this club in to your exact needs. The Speed ring VFT worked extremely well in the TSR2 but not as much when you caught it flush.
The GT2 improves on this with even more sweet spots in the face and optimal ball flight. The flight is high on the GT2 but the smash factor was also the best among the 2024 and 2025 drivers. You get a higher launch, steeper decent angle, less spin, more carry and more total distance. A really great performing driver.
Titleist avoided Carbon until now because the weight savings were offset by the components to hold it in place, but also the sound. The GT2 sounds like a classic Titleist driver with a crisp powerful sound that hangs in the air nearly as long as the beautiful ball flights.

Who is the Titleist GT2 for?
“This is the most forgiving of the range but it can be used by any level of golfer. Mainly for high to mid handicappers.”
The Titleist R&D team can give themselves a pat on the back for this one and it will continue Titleists dominance in the driver space.
A driver that sounds and feels amazing but alos produces long, straight high flights with slow spin and unbeatable distance. It doesnt get much better than this.
The Speed Ring VFT really fires the ball straight from anywhere but you do get a little extra boost in the middle of the face that you didnt get with the TSR2.
Add that to the adjustable weight at the back and the excellent hosel adjustment season and it’s hard to see how any other driver can take ont eh GT2 in 2024/2025 and win.
