Taylormade Stealth Hybrid Review – Are They Forgiving & Good for High Handicappers?

Like many of the new Taylormade Stealth golf clubs, the Stealth hybrids sport a striking design that begs to be played.

Taylormade Stealth Hybrid Overview

While the Taylormade Stealth hybrid lacks the carbon fiber and polyurethane face wrap that the Stealth drivers have, it is still an impressive line of hybrids.

Plus, the Taylormade Stealth hybrid clubs aren’t completely without carbon fiber innovation. The crowns of these hybrid clubs are made from carbon fiber to put more weight low in the club head. Additional weight savings allow for the steel sole panel which enhances launch.

Overall, our testers remarked at how easy it was to swing these clubs, get under the ball and launch it high out of tough lies.

Are the Taylormade Stealth Hybrids Forgiving?

In a word, yes. The Taylormade Stealth hybrids all launch high and produce surprisingly low spin.

All of that is a recipe for distance. We noticed excellent carry distances from the Taylormade Stealth hybrid even when we were swinging from tough lies. The Taylormade Stealth hybrids still have the twist face technology too so shots are inherently straighter.

Are the Taylormade Stealth Hybrids Good for Beginners & High Handicappers?

The Taylormade Stealth hybrids would benefit a wide variety of players and beginners are certainly included in that range.

The steel sole panel has a knack for pulling your swing down where it needs to be to produce excellent launch. So more than anything, this hybrid is a great rescue hybrid. Better players will even be able to use it off the tee; but they are great for beginners in need of a good rescue club.

Available Lofts

Should you Buy the Taylormade Stealth Hybrid or the Stealth Plus?

If you are a beginner or high handicapper, you would do well sticking with the standard Taylormade Stealth hybrid.

The Taylormade Stealth Hybrid Plus is more workable and features an elevated toe profile so it’s a lot easier to shape your shots the way you want them. The C300 steel face of the Stealth Plus also delivers hot ball speeds – for those who can swing the club fast enough.

The Taylormade Stealth hybrid is much more congenial for players with slower swing speeds who need help with accuracy.
