Taylormade Stealth 2 Vs Taylormade Stealth Hybrid Comparison Overview

Taylormade Stealth 2 Vs Taylormade Stealth Hybrid

Just when people were just getting over the performance of the original Stealth hybrids, Taylormade drops the Stealth 2’s on us.

But we’ve seen quick releases before and they can be marred by the fact that the newer releases are sometimes near-exact replicas of the older models.

So what we wanted to talk about today was whether or not the new Taylormade Stealth 2 hybrid is actually a significant upgrade over the original Taylormade Stealth hybrid. Let’s take a look.

Taylormade Stealth 2 Hybrid Overview

“The new Taylormade Stealth 2 features the inverted cone face design that stretches the sweet spot over more sectors of the face.”

This is the most significant difference between the Taylormade Stealth 2 and the original Stealth hybrid.

So is it enough to justify an upgrade. If forgiveness is your ultimate goal, then yes. The Taylormade Stealth 2’s face is noticeably more forgiving.

We were seeing tighter shot dispersion on a wide variety of shots with the Taylormade Stealth 2 hybrid compared to the original Stealth.

While straighter shots are only likely to garner you a 3-5 yard distance boost, it’s a distance boost nonetheless.

Most of the other features of the Taylormade Stealth 2 can be found in the Taylormade Stealth hybrid so there is not much to talk about here that we won’t cover in the next section.

Taylormade Stealth Hybrid Overview

“Not only are most of the features the same; the original Stealth looks shockingly similar to the Taylormade Stealth 2 hybrid.”

In fact, we were getting confused as to which one was which.

The common features between these two hybrids includes: the Speed Pocket, a carbon fiber crown, V-steel sole panel and twist face technology.

Don’t get us wrong, the original Stealth hybrid is inherently forgiving. It does a great job of compensating for high-toe and low-heel strikes thanks to the twist face design.

So if you’re looking for overall forgiveness, you really can’t go wrong with either of these hybrids.

It’s just that the inclusion of Inverted Cone technology in the new Taylormade Stealth 2 ups the ante a bit in the forgiveness department.

“So is the Taylormade Stealth 2 worth it? We say try both. Get fitted for both and if you don’t get the forgiveness and accuracy you need from the Taylormade Stealth, then you will probably like the Taylormade Stealth 2 hybrid.”
