Taylormade Speed Soft Golf Ball Review

A Golf Ball with a compression rating of under 50, is a feat of technology and we absolutely love how soft these golf balls are.

From the very start the golf ball was inviting with its vibrant design and you can feel how soft the cover is on these golf balls the moment you set your hands on them.

The balls are the softest in the range but we found average to moderately fast swing speeds to get great performance out of these balls.

Who Are The Speed Soft Golf Balls For?

These balls are for everyday and average golfers.

It’s a two piece golf ball that isnt going to break the bank and is incredibly soft, allowing you to compress the ball easily.

For me that felt the best around the greens and those shots inside 50 yards.

With the beautiful design on the balls, I can see a lot of ladies opting for something like the speedsoft.

Seniors as well might be drawn to it and junior golfers.

Taylormade Speed Soft Performance

For me, the driver performance was similar to harder golf balls with a 95 mph swing speed we got very similar distance.

The 7 iron and pitch shots were a little lower and less spinny with a tiny bit more distance.

I loved the balls around the green where u can get that soft touch that I can’t get with something like the Taylormade Tour Response.

That being said the lower spin rates made it a little hard to check the ball on the green.

We also found the dispersion to be a little wider than with something like the Titleist Tour Soft or the even the Distance + from Taylormade.

Overall, I was relatively impressed with the golf balls and they definitely performed better than I thought for such a soft compression.

Pros And Cons

Pros:

SuperSoft
Easy To Compress
Attractive Designs
Good Distance
Can see the ball spin
Good putting alignment
Good Driver Distance
Will Suit Many Golfers
Good Price

Cons:

Lower Spin Inside 100 Yards
Less Consistency
Ionomer Covers Scuffs Easily

Overall Conclusion

A very solid golf ball for the price that actually surprised us with excellent performance off the tee and with the long irons.

Even on mishits, the ball was compressing and getting good distance.

Because the ball is so light, it was a little less consistent in the distances we were getting and we got a few fliers out of the rough.

The balls will suit anybody looking for good performance with less cost and who like the design on the balls.

Best suited to high handicappers, moderate swing speeds and seniors.

Overall, very impressive release from Taylormade, certainly not bottom of the pile.

Durability: 88/100

Overall Score: 90/100
