Taylormade Sim 2 Vs Titleist Tsi2 Driver Comparison And Review 2021

In terms of features, you would be hard-pressed to find two drivers that are more different than the Titlist Tsi2 and the Taylormade SIM 2. The Taylormade SIM 2 is decked out with all kinds of fancy features while the Tsi2 is sort of plain and straightforward.

Sometimes less is more – sometimes it isn’t. We wanted to see which of these 2 drivers performed better so we tested them out side by side.

Titleist Tsi2 Driver Overview

The Tsi2 driver would be a great choice for anyone looking to start their golf journey out on the right foot.

There is nothing intimidating about the Tsi2 driver. It has a clean, classic look, a 460CC head and feels nice and balanced in the hands.

So it will look congenial for beginners and high handicappers, but the aerospace grade titanium face will be much appreciated by more seasoned players.

It should be noted though, that the Tsi2 did not play as naturally long as the Taylormade SIM 2.

We were losing about 9 yards with the Tsi2 compared to the Taylormade SIM 2. Still, the face played very forgiving overall.

We were getting good ball speed no matter where we hit the face of the Tsi2 driver – we attribute that to the premium titanium alloy.

Taylormade SIM 2 Driver Overview

The Taylormade SIM 2 played longer and was just as forgiving as the Tsi2 driver.

Unlike the Tsi2, the Taylormade SIM 2 driver is loaded with features. It has an asymmetrical sole with a rear 16 gram weight.

There is also front/low weighting in the head to reduce spin rates off the tee. Of course, the Taylormade SIM 2 has the Speed Pocket which helps increase flex.

All of this added up to considerable distance you can feel at impact. We liked the solid contact and feel we were getting from the “Inertia Generator” (the bottom sole panel).

The Taylormade SIM 2 also has a larger face than the Tsi2 which, beginners will surely appreciate.

The crown of the Taylormade SIM 2 is made from multiple layers of carbon fiber and there is a forged brace that goes around the back of the head to increase stability.

The Taylormade SIM 2 has more to offer if you are a mid to high handicapper. The Tsi2 was shorter and less forgiving but had a better overall feel.

The forged ring construction and carbon fiber sole delivers some of the fastest swing speeds in the game today.

It also has the inertia generator for higher MOI and split mass weighting, including a 16g steel weight and the back of the club for an incredible, long accurate and forgiving driver, used by some the world’s best players including Dustin Johnson.
