TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid Review – Is it Forgiving & Adjustable for All Handicaps?

Today we have been testing the Qi35 Hybrid from 2025 to see how it ranks against all the other clubs that have been released since then and beforehand.

The Qi35 Rescue brings a crisp new look with its split crown design, solid dark grey near the face merging into grey carbon on the crown, with striking green accents on the sole.

At address, it just sits nicely behind the ball, inspires confidence without being overstated in its appearance or having a ton of offset.

The Qi35 is built from a blend of chromium carbon, steel, and aluminium.

TaylorMade has included a 3 degree adjustable loft sleeve so you can dial in loft, face angle, and launch characteristics.

Add to that the TSS weighting system letting you fine tune the swing weight, which is an added bonus if you game the Qi35.

All these features mean you can really customise how the club performs to your exact swing, especially if you go to Taylormade fitting center.

Is it Good for High Handicappers?

The Qi35 is very forgiving, much like its predecessor, the Qi10 which was, frankly, one of the most forgiving hybrids of recent times as well.

It’s versatile too, great as a fairway finder, a long iron replacer, or when you need to get yourself out of a spot of bother from the rough.

The club’s design keeps ball speed consistent, even on off-center strikes.

The club is so good the GI4D looks set to replace the QI35 in 2026.

Forgiveness and Feel

Centre strikes with this club feel deep and powerful, almost like a punch shot if you will.

There’s solid feedback without too towards the toe without being too harsh, so you know if you missed the sweet spot, but you’re not punished with sore fingers on a cold winters morning and there is also a tight back to front dispersion on on off center strikes.

The ball flight tends to be a little lower and further than the Qi10, thanks to its low spin design. That means less airballs from the rough and more control in windy conditions too.

Look and Confidence

The contrasting grey tones and smart green highlights make it look classy, not flashy green or anything, it is understand and gets the job done like a quiet professional.

It sits wide and tall behind the ball which adds to the confidence factor, especially on tricky lies or for higher handicap players.

Is it worth buying the Qi35 Hybrid?

The Qi35 is a reliable, solid performer packed with adjustability that suits almost every type of player, from low single figures to high handicappers.

If you liked the Qi10 for forgiveness but wanted a bit more control and tuning options, this is a great time to jump on board.

Right from the get go, the Qi35 stands out with its clean, classy look.

The chromium carbon finish with satin coating means no glare stealing your focus at address, while the black rings circling the crown’s edges add a touch of tradition, but wrapped in a more modern style.

Not too big, not too small, the 106cc head hits a sweet spot that’ll appeal to both hybrid lovers and those who’ve usually steered clear of rescue woods.

It’s a clever design that feels easy to launch but with a flatter ball flight than most hybrids, hanging nicely in the air without ballooning and also picking up some nice distanc gains, especially on fairways with a lot of roll out.

Who is the TaylorMade Qi35 Hybrid for?

From scratch players seeking control and workable trajectory, to novices chasing forgiveness and consistency, the Qi35 covers a wider range of golfers than most.

It’s especially handy if you like to play about with lofts and shot shape without changing your swing weight or balance. The flatter launch means it’s easier to flight the ball on command, whether you want to carry the rough or smash it off the fairway.

Not quite as full featured as the Max model in terms of pure forgiveness, but it makes up for that with versatility and feel.

The standard is better suit to mig handicappers while higher handicap players will benefit from the Max version of the club.
