Takomo 101 Vs Takomo 101T Irons Comparison
Takomo hollow body irons are affordable and sport premium features.
But which one is better overall? Find out in the following overview of each.
Takomo 101 Irons Overview
“The Takomo 101 irons are hollow-body designed and made with 431 carbon steel.”
I liked the soft feel of these irons. In fact, on most pure strikes, they don’t feel as thin as most hollow body irons.
The Takomo 101’s have longer blade lengths and are flighted down by 2° in each club compared to the Takomo 101T set.
There is also significantly more offset in the Takomo 101 set – the 4-iron has a whopping 5.7mm of offset.
So overall, the Takomo 101 irons are significantly more forgiving.
Takomo 101T Irons Overview
“The Takomo 101T’s have shorter blade lengths and a slightly shallower face profile.”
The shallower face profile does impart some side-to-side forgiveness; but it’s not much compared to the Takomo 101’s.
The Takomo 101T’s do provide more stopping power from up close and from distance though.
“The Takomo 101’s are considerably more forgiving and would be good for mid to high handicappers. The Takomo 101T’s were obviously made for mid to low handicappers seeking more distance.”
