Ping i240 Vs i530 2025 Comparison And Review

The New Titleist T-Series has been released for the 2025 season and the T200’s have gotten such an upgrade that their name has changed to the T250’s.
These are Hollow Body Players Distance Irons with a forged face that offers, distance, speed, consistency, high launch and a premium sound and feel.
Ping i530 – The Players Distance Iron

The i530’s are the irons I currently use and they are for mid handicappers looking for distance and accuracy with some forgiveness throw into the mix for good measure.
The have longer blades than the i240’s and they have a thicker top line with chunkier soles.
These are Hollow bodied irons with a forged face. They are much longer than the i240’s and the launch lower and with less spin and less accuracy.
They will appeal to mid handicappers who want to get a ton of distance and more control with their irons than they would get with a game improvement iron.
And they are more forgiving than the i240’s which are aimed a lower handicappers and pro golfers.
Ping i240 – The Forgiving Players Iron

The i240 upgrades the i230’s that were released way back in 2022.
They have compact heads with a chunk of Elastomer inside that saves 8grams of weight which is redistributed to lower the COG of the irons.
The result is a higher ball flight and more consistency across the face. We were really impressed with the tight dispersions we were getting.
The sound and feel is also amazing and the irons are not forged, which is quite a feat of engineering from Ping and the irons wont cost an exorbitant amount either.
With the higher launch and extra forgiveness, the i240 now move from pros and low handicappers to also include consistent striking mid handicappers as well looking to tip toe into something bladey.
Overall
Both irons have the hallmarks of Ping with the Tungsten screw in the toe and the flexible hinge at the back.
Both sets offer the premium Ping performance that you would expect but its important to get fitted for you exact needs.
It would be easy to carry the i530 in the long iron and the more accurate i240’s in the shorter irons.

Ping i240 First Impressions

The Ping i240’s replace the 2022, i230’s and the big change is that they are a little more forgiving while still maintaining that compact body of a players iron.
They are not forged, so they wont cost you a fortune and the sound and feel is so good, that you would easily mistake them for fully forged irons.
We have got Elestomer inside the club which saves 8 grams of weight which is redistributed to lower the COG and produce a higher ball flight, espicially with the longer irons.
These are not the longest irons, they are for Low handicappers and pros mainly but may even suit some mid handicappers now with the extra forgiveness.
We got really tight dispersions from these irons from front to back and left to right.
Overall a quality iron for better players that comes with three separate loft specs: Standard, Retro & Power.

Ping i530 Irons – First Impressions

“They look similar to the i525’s but a little boxier and stronger looking. Then you get them on the trackman and they sound better and fly longer.”
The i530’s are a hollow body players distance iron aimed at mid handicap players who want to pin hunt from further out in the hopes of increasing the number of birdies they can get without sacrificing performance.
The back wall of the face has been thinned to increase smash factor, flex and forgiveness. The polymer inside the head ensures a powerful yet smooth sound and feel.
The lofts have been strengthened and the COG has been lowered and deepened to ensure more distance while keeping spin rates and stopping power at acceptable levels.
The heads do look nice and compact at address but there is enough club there to inspire confidence and produce impressive distances.
Extra grooves have been added to increase spin rates and overall they are a nice upgrade on the i525’s.

Aidan Lehane here, I’m a Mid-low handicap golfer who has made tremendous progress in breaking 90 in just over 1 year of playing golf seriously.
I get out to the course or range as often as possible and review all the equipment I’ve come across on this blog.
