But it is also certainly suited to a specific type of player. The Mitsubishi Tensei AV raw series also has Orange and Blue iterations. It should be noted right away that of all the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw shafts, the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White has the stiffest tip. Read on to find out everything else you need to know about this shaft.
Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White Shaft Overview
The Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White won’t make you swing super hard to get the distance you need.
While it does have a stiff tip, it still somehow feels smooth. It must have something to do with the Aluminum Vapor coating that makes this series of shafts so popular. The coating helps to prevent ovalling and improves the stability of this shaft.
The Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White is advertised as providing low spin and low launch. After testing it out for ourselves, we can confirm that this is true. As you can imagine, the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White is built for players with fast swing speeds. However when we were testing it, we didn’t get the feeling that we really needed to lean into our swings.
And the spin rates were pretty ridiculous. After three swings the average spin rate that the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White was producing was in the 1800 RPM range. Yes, the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White is better for faster swingers; but we were surprised that it felt so comfortable with a more deliberate tempo.
Why is the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White So Popular?
For us, the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White shaft offers what we have come to expect from the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw series: consistency.
You know what you’re going to get on almost every drive which is a huge benefit for every type of golfer.
How Does the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White Perform?
The stiff tip section really goes a long way toward keeping your ball straight.
If you typically have a slice, the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White is a shaft that can actually help with that – assuming you have a fast or at least moderate swing speed. The launch angles were consistently in the low teens. What you end up with is a low, piercing trajectory that you love to see if you’re a fast swinger.
Shot shape was also incredibly consistent. It was basically the same with every shot we took: a line drive that may draw just a bit before bending back on-line. Really, it’s a beautiful shape that if nothing else, will gain you a few extra yards by merit of accuracy alone. The stiff tip also allows for really good club head stability and control. You can feel where you made contact and know that your swing will produce an accurate strike.
There isn’t much of a kick in this shaft – at least, we couldn’t feel one. So we wouldn’t say that it has an active feel by any means. However, it has the classically Mistubish smoothness which prevents the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White from feeling too stout. Overall, the Mitsubishi Tensei AV Raw White launches low, spins low and has a very satisfying feel.
