HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX Review – 60 Vs 70 Vs 80

“For aggressive swingers, the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX shaft offers amazing stability and accuracy.”

The HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX line of shafts picks up where the original HZRDUS Smoke Black shafts left off. You still get stability to tame swing speeds 90+ MPH but with the added bonus of slightly lower launch and spin.

But you may be wondering which specific weight you should go with. We went out and tested the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX in its 60, 70 and 80 weight categories. Read on to find out everything you need to know about these shafts.

HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 60 Overview

“In the 60  weight class you can choose from 58, 59 and 62 gram options.”

The flex ranges from 5.5 to Tour X. For our testers with an aggressive transition, the 6.5 was spot on. The launch was a little higher than the other shafts we tested; but there was almost no variance in flight trajectory so long as we had a true strike.

HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 70 Overview

“For the 70 weight class, you can choose 66, 67, 69 or 72 grams.”

You get the same flex options for the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 70 as you do with the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 60. The HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 70 shafts didn’t feel much different from the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 60. It was stable and almost boring in its consistency.

HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80 Overview

“The HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80 comes in 80 and 84 gram weight versions.”

This shaft is only for the heavy hitters. Our testers said that the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80 was beefy and prevented almost all curving and ballooning. But only our testers with exceptionally aggressive transitions were able to get ideal distance off the tee with this shaft.

Key Differences

“The obvious difference is weight but the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80 is only available in stiff and extra stiff flex.”

They all have the same carbon fiber construction and they all feel lighter than they actually are. However, the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80 is the heaviest entry into this shaft line and is only available in stiff, extra stiff and tour flex.

Who Should Buy Each?

“All of these shafts would be best suited for players with an aggressive transition and fast tempos.”

However, the HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 60 is a good choice if you like a bit of up-and-down workability from the tee.

The HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 70 is a great middle-ground between the 60 and 70 and will fit most players swinging their driver over 95 MPH.  The HZRDUS Smoke Black RDX 80 is best reserved for amateurs who can capitalize on ridiculously low launch and spin.
