Graphite Design Tour AD FI Shaft Review – Specs, Flex, Weight 2026

If you’ve been following the shaft market lately, you know that Graphite Design has been absolutley killing it with their Tour AD line.
The Tour AD FI is their latest release for 2026 and its already making waves with mid to low handicap players who want a shaft that gives them control without feeling like they’re swinging a telephone pole.
Graphite Design loaded this thing up with some serious tech, including their AD Shield technology for durability and something they call Tornado Tip Tech for stability. But does all that fancy stuff actually translate to better golf shots? We put it through its paces to find out.
Tour AD FI Shaft Overview
Right out of the gate, the Tour AD FI looks really sharp. It’s got this green to gloss black fade with silver accents that just screams premium. The graphics are clean and modern without being too busy.
Now lets talk about what matters, the feel. The Tour AD FI has what Graphite Design calls a Firm+ butt and mid section with a stiff tip. What that means for you is a shaft that stays very stable through the whole swing but still gives you enough kick to launch the ball properly.
One thing that really stood out during testing was how this shaft compares to some other popular models. We kept hearing from testers that it felt like a softer version of the AD VF but with maximum tip stiffness that’s rated as “stiff” rather than “very stiff”. If you’ve tried the Ventus Blue and liked it, this shaft has a very similar stiffness profile.
The Tour AD FI is made with aerospace quality carbon fiber materials, specifically TORAYCA M40X and T1100G carbon fiber pre-pregs. Graphite Design also uses their Material Stiffness Integration (MSI) technology which is supposed to give you optimal feel. We cant explain all the science behind it but we can tell you it works.
Why is the Tour AD FI So Popular?

This shaft is getting a lot of attention because it rewards players who have smooth rhythm and good tempo.
Its not a shaft that punishes you if your tempo is a bit deliberate. In fact, it seems to work better with players who arent trying to rip the cover off the ball on every swing.
The other thing is that the Tour AD FI is very multi-player friendly. We had testers with different swing speeds and tempos try it out and pretty much everyone found something to like about it.
How Does the Tour AD FI Perform?
Here’s where things get interesting. On well struck shots, the Tour AD FI produces what we would describe as a flat, boring trajectory. And we mean that in the best way possible.
The ball flight flattens out rather than peaking sharply which is exactly what better players want to see. It gives you that penetrating ball flight that holds up in the wind.
Launch was mid, just like Graphite Design promised. Spin rates were in the low to mid range which paired perfectly with the launch to give us really consistent carry distances. We never felt like the ball was ballooning or coming up short.
The stiff tip section really shines when you’re trying to control your shot shape. Whether you want to hit a fade or a draw, the Tour AD FI lets you work the ball without feeling like its fighting you. But if you just want to pipe it straight down the middle, it does that too.
One thing we noticed was that this shaft adapts to how you swing it. Smoother swings felt very controlled and stable. When we really went after it, the shaft still held up without getting loose or whippy.
The tip trimming guidelines are really precise which tells you that Graphite Design put a lot of thought into maintaining the shafts performance characteristics across all the different flexes and weights.
Tour AD FI Shaft Specs
| Specs | Tour AD FI |
|---|---|
| Available flexes | Ladies, Senior, Regular, Stiff, Extra Stiff |
| Weight | 49g, 85g |
| Tip | .335″ |
| Length | 46″ |
What Flexes Are Available? What Swing Speeds Do They Suit?
The Tour AD FI comes in a bunch of different flexes so theres probably one that fits your swing.
Ladies and Senior flexes would work for players swinging under 75 MPH. Regular flex is good for the 75-85 MPH range. If you’re in the 85-95 MPH range, stiff flex is probably your best bet. And for anyone swinging faster than 95 MPH, extra stiff should do the trick.
What Weights Are Available? What Swing Speeds Do They Suit?

Weight options range from 49g all the way up to 85g depending on which flex you choose.
The lighter weights in the 49-60g range would suit slower swing speeds in the 70-80 MPH area. Mid weights around 65-75g would work for 80-90 MPH swingers. And the heavier options up to 85g would be good for players swinging 90 MPH and faster.
Why is it So Good?
What makes the Tour AD FI special is how it balances a stiff profile with a smooth, manageable feel.
A lot of shafts that are this stable feel kind of dead or boardy. The Tour AD FI doesnt have that problem at all. It gives you feedback and feel while still keeping everything under control.
The fact that its designed and manufactured in Japan with all that precision and quality also means you’re getting a shaft that performs exactly how its supposed to every single time. Theres no guessing or inconsistency.
Tour Ad Fi Overall

Just taking some practice swings with the Tour AD FI, you can tell its a premium shaft.
The transition is smooth and the release feels very controlled. It doesnt feel like the shaft is doing all the work for you but its definitely not fighting you either. Its more like the shaft is working with your swing to help you hit better shots.
If you’re a mid to low handicap player who values precision and power, and you’ve got a smooth tempo, the Tour AD FI is definitely worth checking out.
