Garmin S50 Vs Garmin S62 Review & Comparison 2025
Garmin has released two watches for the 2025 and in today’s review we are going to look at the brand new S50 and see how it compares against the previous generation S62.
Both of these watches come with heart rate monitors and advanced fitness features but there are some things that the S50 does better and also some things that the S62 still down better.
What The S50 Does Better
390px Amoled Screen
The Amoled screen on the Garmin s50 is one of the best in the world, its crystal clear and the 1.2″ face is nice and compact while the Nylon strap sits comfortably on the wrist.
The Garmin s62 is bigger and may be clunky on smaller wrists. The 1.3″ screen is still easy to read but not half as sharp at 260px.
More Fitness Features
The S50 has slightly more fitness features and profiles than the S62. Its more up to date and has all the latest features.
That being said, the s62 still doesn almost everything that the S50 does. It does all the big stuff.
Price
The S50 is costing $450 new and the Garmin S62 is costing $550 new. The Garmin S62 does pretty much everything the S50 does and more.
The S50 has advanced features behind a membership club pay wall which are not so sure about.
The S62 comes with all the advanced fatures already unlocked.
The S62 can also be picked up refurbished or second hand for a fraction of the price.
What The S62 Does Better
Battery Life
The battery life of the Garmin S50 is one of the best of any smart watch. It lasts 10 days in Smart watch mode and it lasts 15 hours or up to 5 rounds in Golf GPS mode.
The Garmin S62 is even better and it lasts 15 days in Smartmode and up to 20 hours in Golf mode.
Advanced Features
The advanced features like Slope, Pinpointing any distance on the course, green views and manual pin positioning and pin pointer which tells you the direction to the green at all times. They all come for free with the S62 and you will need to pay extra to get them on the S50.
Overall
The S62 is the better watch and if you can pick it up for cheaper, it is a bit of a no brainer.
The S50 will be reserved for those who like new products and are attracted to the Amoled screen and those new, more advanced fitness and smart watch features,
For us the S62 is still the better watch overall

Garmin S62 Golf GPS Watch – First Impressions
The Garmin S62 has an awesome set of features and the first thing you have to notice is the large 1.7″ color touchscreen and the sleek design of the watch.
The watch comes in white, black or charcoal color and the bands are quick change so you can have a different look and feel every time you leave the house. There is also downloadable watch interfaces that can suit the bands you chose on the day.
When you arrive at the course, the course name will pop up on the screen to be paired and it does that considerable faster that competitors watches.
Key Features:
The features of the watch are immediately apparent and navigating the screens could be a bit tricky for older and less tech savvy players.
The virtual caddie calculates slope and wind, making a club selection on your behalf based on the data you have built up in the free Garmin App. If you connect the CT10 sensors to each club, you can also gain more valuable insights into your game that build up over time.
You can pick any position you want on each hole to gain masterful insights on how you are going to approach your course strategy including layups on doglegs and avoiding any hazards. You also have the option of manual pin positioning for exact distances.
The heart rate monitor is excellent and there are separate profiles for sports like running, walking, cycling and even swimming.
The Garmin pay feature on the watch is also excellent, you can pay in the clubhouse or in your local shop when wearing the watch which is easily stylish enough to wear at all times.
Garmin S50 First Impressions
The Garmin s50 is the Upper Mid Range watch for 2025 which boasts a 390px Amoled screen, hear rate monitoring, an amazing battery life and more.
The watch gives you all the features you would expect like lay up distances, hazards, front middle and back of the green, manual pin poisitioning and more.
The Amoled screen is wasted if you dont join the membership option which costs extra, but this gives you detailed course maps, the ability to pin point any position on the course, pinpointer to the green when you are blocked out and plays like distances.
Disappointing you have to pay extra as they were free in the S62.
You can track you club stats easily and all your round data goes onto the Garmin Golf App as standard.
The Battery life is amazing at 10 days in Smart Watch mode which is better than nearly every other brand.
The Watch also has heart rate monitoring, sleep tracking, strees tracking, blood oxygen tracking and gives it all to you in a simple morning report.
Overall it is a decent watch, nto close to the S70, unfortunately and probably worth the extra $50 from the S44.

Maybe they are on the fence about the extra golf features but may upgrade later and thy are interested in the heart rate monitor.
The s62 will still give the S50 a good run for its money so many golfers will prefer that watch.
The S70 is also superior so this is for someone who doesnt want to fork out the full amount for the S70.
All in all is a very decent golf watch with incredible battery, but we dont like the membership subsrciption model.
