Garmin Marq Golfer Vs Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch Comparison Review

The Garmin Marq Golfer and the Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch represent a couple of the finest luxury golf watches currently on the market.

Whether you are searching for a nice gift for the golf-lover in your life or simply want to treat yourself to a bit of luxury, you can’t go wrong with  the Garmin Marq Golfer or the Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch.

However, just because you pay top dollar for a golf watch does not mean you will get true value. On the one hand you have a manufacturer whose name is synonymous with GPS in Garmin and on the other you have an established luxury timepiece manufacturer in Tag Heuer.

To give you a deeper insight into both of these watches, we went out and tested both of these watches and recorded our findings.

Garmin Marq Golfer Overview

The Garmin Marq Golfer watch is loaded with features that will be useful on and off the golf course.

There is a lot to talk about here so we’re gonna dive right in. The Garmin Marq Golfer features a ceramic bezel and brushed titanium bracelet. The lens is made of domed sapphire and overall, this is a stunning watch.

It has a slew of aviation features including direct-to (or as the crow flies) GPS navigation and navigation to airports. It operates as a golf GPS watch, a smart watch and a fitness tracker so this may very well be the last watch you’ll ever need.

Flight plans, weather reports, light logs and HSI course needle function are all accessible through the button navigation.

This is just as much an aviator’s and sports enthusiast’s watch as it is a golf GPS watch.

Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch Overview

The Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch lacks a lot of the periphery features that the Garmin Marq Golfer watch has but makes up for it in other ways.

Like the Garmin Marq Golfer, the Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch has a ceramic bezel and a titanium case. Unlike the Marq though, the Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch comes with rubber watch band options.

The Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch can also be operated via the crown “pushers” and 1.39” OLED touchscreen color display which was a nice touch. We also really liked the custom watch faces and dials that are available with this watch.

The digital display of the Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch makes for some awesome customization options.

One of the best things about this watch is you can download custom watch faces to change up the looks.

Garmin Marq Golfer First Impressions

Of course we were taken aback by the clean, aviator-inspired looks of this watch.

Then we were brought back down to Earth by the sheer volume of features it has. The Marq can be a bit intimidating but if you have the time to spend with it, it’s probably fun to figure out.

Key Features

The Marq is loaded with golf, aviation and fitness tracking features.

A lot of the health features like the blood oxygen saturation monitor and the hydration alerts are only available through the Garmin connect app but all the essentials are here: sleep monitor, stress monitor, heart rate, pedometer, calorie burning counter, movement alerts and much more.

On the golf course, you get access to 42,000+ course maps, a digital scorecard, shot distances, custom target distances, greenview, yardage to hazards, “plays like”distances, swing tempo, manual pin positioning and even tempo training.

You can easily lose hours exploring all the features this watch offers.

Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch First Impressions

The rubber watch bands sort of turned us off at first, but the Tag Heuer Connected Golf Watch eventually won us over.

We liked that you could actually control your music in the car via Bluetooth with this watch and all the other quality of life smartwatch features.

Key Features

This watch has smartwatch, golf watch and fitness tracking features.

You can read texts and emails, control apps and get push notifications from your phone with this watch. It also has a pedometer, pulse monitor and it can track your progress while running, biking and engaging in other sports.

With the Tag Heuer Golf app, you get really nice color renderings of courses and holes including shot distances, distance to the pin, digital scorecards and stat archiving.

This watch is on par with intermediate level golf GPS watches.
