Cobra F-Max Airspeed Vs F-Max Superlite Driver Comparison Overview

The F-Max series of clubs from Cobra have always seemed to emphasize one thing: light weight. And while the F-Max lineup isn’t as prominent as it was a few years ago, we believe that these clubs still have something to offer golfers today.

Especially the drivers. That’s why we went out and revisited a couple of the most popular F-Max drivers: the Superlite and the Airspeed. What do these drivers have to offer you? Find out in the following comparison article.

Cobra F-Max Airspeed Driver Overview

The Cobra F-Max Airspeed was initially designed to be up to 50 grams lighter than traditional drivers of it’s time.

“It’s time” being just a couple of years ago. The Cobra F-Max Airspeed driver debuted in early 2020 and it was an immediate hit for moderate swing speed players who wanted a lighter, faster driver.

While other clubs have debuted since then that have challenged the Cobra F-Max Airspeed as the lightest driver in the game, at just 270 grams overall, the Cobra F-Max Airspeed is still a viable option for mid to high handicappers.

Most of the weight savings come from a carbon fiber crown. The saved weight was placed low and towards the heel to help players turn the club over. This will certainly help players struggling with a slice.

Cobra really wanted to emphasize club head speed with this driver so they even added two aerodynamic ridges on the crown that help decrease wind resistance.

Cobra F-Max Superlite Driver Overview

The Cobra F-Max Superlite driver places the same emphasis on weight savings to increase swing speeds.

It should be noted though that the F-Max Superlite driver came out 2 years before the Cobra F-Max Airspeed driver – in 2018. At that time, the Superlite drive was certainly one of the lightest drivers on the market.

But at a total of 287 grams, it was succeeded remarkably by the Cobra F-Max Airspeed driver just 2 years later. Still, everything about this driver was made to be light; from the lighter grips to the lighter shaft and crown.

While the Cobra F-Max Superlite driver is still a great choice for players with smoother swing tempos, the Cobra F-Max Airspeed driver will do even more for players who are looking to increase their swing speed.

The Cobra Driver Family

We would be remiss if we didn’t mention one of our favorite drivers in the Cobra family, the Cobra Radspeed driver.

The Radspeed has been a staple in the bags of mid to low handicappers because of its ridiculously low spin rates.

While it won’t do as much as the Cobra F-Max Airspeed driver will to increase swing speed, it’s still plenty forgiving with an expansive milled face area.
