DS Adapt X 3

What’s New?

Carbon Crown

The lightweight carbon is wrapped all around the head and the grey around the crown has a lot of shelf appeal, added to the extra coloring makes the driver visually appealing. The Aerodynamics improved in the Dark Speed and Cobra say they have further improved the aerodynamics leading to another increase in club head speed.

FutureFit33 Loft And Lie

The key innovation of the DS Adapt range of drivers is the Futurefit 33 Loft and lie adaptability. This is great for club fitters as they tinker around and have a range of options for golfers in the same head. There is a possibility that high handicapper will get the wrench out and start tinkering with the settings but there is a chart showing what every pairing should offer to discerning golfers.

Moveable Weights

There are two moveable weights available in the Cobra DS Adapt X driver. There is a 10g and 3g weight which are interchangable at the front and back to further optimize your performance. Heavy weight at the back will promote a higher ball flight and the heavier weight on the front will give more distance, but you will need to keep an eye on the spin numbers when optimizing.

Forged Hot Face Insert

The Hot Face has again been improved is the stable forgiving driver to offer a tighter dispersion, even on off center shots. It also gives a ton of ball speed and a powerful sound and feel, which is another selling point of the club. A Driver For All Levels Rickie Fowler has been seen using the DS Adapt on tour and this show how well the driver performs when fully dialed in to your swing. If you are looking for something long and forgiving, the X is a great option.

4 Models Available

The Max K model maxes out the MOI of the driver at 10k, which moves it in competition with the likes of the Ping G440 Max and the QI35 Max from Taylormade. More forgiving and more stability than the X version but with less distance. It is for moderate to below average swing speeds.

The LS version is low spin and it is for tour players who want more control, lower spin, lower launch and more distance, its for higher swing speeds.

The Max D is set up with a draw bias to reduce the effects of those who may slice the ball.
