Cobra Radspeed Vs. PXG 0211 Driver Comparison Overview

We really love testing Cobra and PXG clubs because these two companies really know how to make exciting golf clubs. Cobra and PXG can usually be counted on to include unique tech and design elements in their drivers which is why we wanted to test their drivers against each other.

In the following comparison overview, we will be telling you about our experience testing the PXG 0211 driver against the Cobra Radspeed.

Cobra Radspeed Driver Overview

The first thing you should know about the Cobra Radspeed compared to the PXG 0211 driver is that the Radspeed was the generally longer club.

We can attribute this to faster ball speeds which in turn, can be attributed to lower spin off the tee. The Radspeed features split radial weighting – a massive 28 gram weight in the front with a 10 gram weight in the back.

This eliminates nearly all spin off the tee. It does however compromise launch – at least it did for us. Carry distances weren’t great but the Radspeed gets its distance mainly through ridiculous ball speed.

The face also feels amazing and is surprisingly forgiving for a driver we would say was intended for intermediate players. The face has an expansive milled area so it’s thinner in more places and will flex more away from the sweet spot.

PXG 0211 Driver Overview

The PXG 0211 driver has a titanium alloy face and a thermoplastic elastomer insert that enriches the feel.

In terms of vibration management, the PXG 0211 was the better driver thanks to this generous thermoplastic elastomer layer. The PXG 0211 driver also produced better apex height than the Radspeed driver.

So if you are a beginner or high handicapper struggling getting your ball up in the air, the PXG 0211 driver would be the better choice. In fact, after testing these two drivers, we can safely say that the PXG 0211 is the better game-improvement driver.

While the Radspeed yielded faster ball speed, only our testers with swing speeds of 98MPH or higher were able to unlock this increased speed. For our higher handicap testers, the PXG 0211 was actually the longer driver.

The Cobra Radspeed is certainly the more daring and exciting driver but you will need a fast swing speed and heightened accuracy to have any fun with it. The PXG 0211 is the more congenial game-improvement driver – if that’s what you’re looking for.

PXG 0211 First Impressions

We were excited to see an adjustable hosel in what is essentially meant to be an entry-level PXG driver (if such a thing exists).

After the first swing, we were taken aback at how soft and smooth this driver felt. We credit this to the railed sole design which increase MOI but also adds stability by bracing the heel and toe.

The honeycombed polymer insert in the head doesn’t hurt either. Plus, the fact that you can shape shots better with the adjustable hosel actually makes this driver a great value.

Cobra Radspeed – First Impressions

“Like it’s predecessor, the Speedzone driver, the Radspeed feels light and wieldy in the hands. You can feel and hear the quality materials used after your first swing.

We were really impressed with the milled face of this driver. It feels incredible and is extremely reactive.

The Radspeed is really starting to challenging the biggest names in the driver department like the Pings, Taylormades and Titleists.

The Radspeed Family

The Radspeed XB driver features back-biased radial weighting (20 grams in the back and 8 in the front) which allows for higher, straighter shots.

The Radspeed XD driver features heel-biased weighting (8 grams in front, 10 in the middle and 14 in the back) perfect for those looking to avoid a slice.

PXG 0211 Driver – Who is it for?

The PXG 0211 driver is actually more forgiving than the 0811 so it would be more suitable for mid handicap players that need a little help with shot shaping.

We love the fact that PXG paired a high forgiveness driver with an adjustable hosel. While this driver still isn’t as forgiving as some Callaway and Taylormade entries, it is one of the most forgiving drivers that PXG has ever produced.

All in all we would say that this would be a suitable driver for a mid handicapper that already knows how to shape shots based on the nature of the hole.

Cobra Radspeed – Who are the for?

The Cobra Radspeed driver is for low to mid handicappers who prefer forward-biased center of gravity.

The bottom line is that the Cobra Radspeed driver will produce less spin off the tee than even the Titleist Tsi3. It’s remarkably workable as well thanks to the two adjustable weights in the front and back.

Our only real gripe about this driver is that adjusting the weights is kind of tricky. It’s not as easy as the sliding weight of the Titleist TSi3 driver. The TSi3 driver also has a slew of custom shaft options.

The Rad X B

The Rad X B has everything the Radspeed has but it offers more forgiveness and easier launch than the Radspeed.

There is less spin and that offers straighter shots

The Rad X D

The Draw version of the driver, super forgiving for High Handicappers who are prone to slicing the ball.
