Callaway Quantum Max Overview
Callaway have gone back to their roots with the Quantum Max, bringing back that chunky game improvement look that the old X family irons had in the 2000s.
No apologies here, these look like proper game improvement irons at address with a thick topline, generous offset and a big sole.
The 360 degree undercut is an industry first and it allows the entire sole to flex at impact which is pretty incredible when you think about it. They’ve made the face and hosel as one single piece too and moved the weld line way back so the face can really flex on low strikes where most amateurs actually hit it.
The Tri Sole design has been refined from the Elyte irons and it glides through the turf beautifully whether your coming in steep or shallow. The AI optimised face keeps ball speeds consistent across the entire hitting area and high toe mishits launch surprisingly well without that awful gear effect spin.
Sound and feel are loud and clicky but thats the tradeoff for this level of forgiveness. Mishits stay within about half a club of intended distance which is massive for scoring.
