Callaway Apex Ai 300 Irons Review – The Best Forged Game Improvement Irons?

The Callaway AI300 Irons are the most beginner friendly of the Callaway Series, released in the 2025 season and boasting a huge amount of performance and tech.

The Ai300 Irons from Callaway are an upgrade on the Apex DCB irons and they look solid from the back with the Callaway logo and the black Apex badge at the back of the club.

These clubs are all about maximum forgiveness and distance while maintaining a premium forged feel.

Callaway Apex Ai300 Irons Overview & Tech

The Ai300’s are the most forgiving and largest of the Apex family, sitting in the premium  Game Improvement category.

At address we see a confidence inspiring profile with thick top lines, chunky soles and plenty of meet behind the face.

The face is not just a normal face, it’s an Ai smart face which takes the shots of thousands of average golfers to create a long and straight shots almost anywhere on the face.

The face and the body are also constructed with 455 Forged steel for a premium sound and feel that you wouldn’t expect from a game improvement type iron.

The dynamic soles cut through the turf effortlessly and the urethane microspheres which fill these hollow body irons adds to the premium feel.

We have Metal injection molding to place high density tungsten into the optimal areas for low center of gravity and enhanced forgiveness.

Overall the strong lofts and big club head size provide a ton of distance with lower spin rates and a lot of forgiveness, while the significant offset can work wonders for a slice.

These irons are perfect for high handicappers and even the long irons will be great for Mid Handicappers who struggle with consistency.

Are The Callaway Apex Ai300 Irons Forgiving?

The Apex ai300 are the most forgiving of the irons in the Apex set but they are not quite as forgiving as the Elyte X which are not forged and cost significantly less.

That being said, they are very forgiving and consistent irons with the large sized club heads, offset and beginner friendly profile. We were actually surprised at how consistent these irons were in our testing.

Are The AI 300 Irons Blades

No, these are not blades but they have a forged face and a forged body for a feel as similar as possible to blades from such a big and chunky iron.

Should you Buy the AI200 Or The Ai300?

The Ai300 Irons are for beginners with some extra cash in their pockets who want to get the consistency, distance AND premium feel.

You can get similar performance for almost have the price with the Callaway Elyte irons. The Ai200 Are for players distance irons built for slightly better players, ie Mid Handicappers.

Depending on what you are looking for, the Ai200’s are probably more popular because you can easily get game improvement irons for much less. Having said that the sound, feel and consistent of the Ai300’s is premium level.

Callaway Apex Ai300 First Impressions

First Impressions is that they have a nice design, the heads are big and confidence inspiring and their is a ton of offset.

The irons inspire a lot of confidence at address and they are noticeably bulky with the classic, rounded Callaway shape and plenty of offset to correct a slice, if you need it.

We didn’t really expect the sound and feel of these irons to be so good, despite having that Forged face and body, but they do sound and feel amazing.

First impressions of hitting the irons and they are long, low flying and with low spin numbers, excellent for hitting long and straight but not so much about precision.

A good idea may be to mix and match Long irons from the Ai300 with shorter irons from the Ai200 if your striking a little bit better.

All the technology works well with tight dispersions and consistent performance. Overall was quietly impressed by these irons.
