This makes them a viable option for all kinds of players even though they are firmly entrenched in the “Premium” category as far as golf balls go.
The Bridgestone E6 Speed balls were made to be soft and give moderate distance off the tee.
Callaway Chrome Soft Balls Overview
The Callaway Chrome Soft balls have a very unique performance thanks to the graphene outer core layer.
Graphene is a one-atom thick layer of graphite that is laid out in a hexagonal pattern. This tiny layer makes a huge difference in the spin robustness and rebound of these balls though.

Performance Off the Tee
The Bridgestone E6 Speed balls produce very low spin off the tee which helps increase ball speed and distance.
These are mid-distance balls but they do have a soft feel even on full-swing drives.
Performance from the Rough
From the rough these balls reacted fairly well. Taking to them with a hybrid 4 or 5 will allow you to scoop them up decently.
However, we were having trouble getting a good grip on them with rescue irons.
Performance from the Fairway
The low side spin of these balls made them a bit difficult for the better players in our test party to work off the deck.

The Callaway Chrome Soft balls deliver performance exactly where better players need it.
They spin very little off the tee for piercing ball trajectory.
Performance from the Rough
You want a soft ball in the rough. The cover of the Chrome Soft balls are made out of thin and soft urethane which is pretty much as good as it gets from the rough.
Performance from the Fairway
We would have liked to get a little more spin with our irons off the deck with these balls but this is really the only place we could say the Chrome Soft’s disappoint.

They give you good reaction off the driver face which is really what you need to start a hole off right.
How are they With Short Irons?
If you are looking for strictly straighter shots, then the Bridgestone E6 Speed balls will fit the bill. However, working them off the deck with your short irons will prove difficult for most players.
On the Green
For a premium category ball, the Bridgestone E6 Speed performs as you would expect: not much control on two hops and stops but good for popping up and bouncing once on the green.

Who are the Callaway Chrome Soft Balls for?
The Callaway Chrome Soft balls are definitely better for low handicap players with fast swing speeds who want better greenside control.
Keep in mind that the Callaway Chrome Soft balls have a compression rating of 75! You will have to be able to really whack the ball off the tee and the deck in order to get the distance you need from these balls.
How are they With Short Irons?
Again, we would have liked to feel more workability with the short irons. But these balls really shine with your wedges – if that’s any consolation.
On the Green
The graphene outer core layer can really be felt in how consistent these balls feel on putts. What you put into these balls you will surely get out.
There is no surprise in terms of roll and they hold their line well.
