Aretera EC1 Shaft Review – Specs, Flex, Weight

EC1 3

There’s a new company in the golf shaft market making waves and their 2025 release is already gaining significant fanfare.

Alex Dee left Fujikara to strike out on his own in 2024 and the golfing world has been eagerly anticipating their first release, which has finally come in the EC1 wood series.

Aretera EC1 Overview – Specs, Flex, Weight

The new wood series is living up to the hype so far and it comes in two distinct flavors, blue and grey, both sporting the new controlCENTR technology, which supports a stable shaft with a smooth feel in the swing.

Alex was the man behind the Ventus range from Fujikara and has poured all his years of experience into these innovative and player friendly new shafts.

When we tested out the EC1 Blue 65 -4 (Extra Stiff), what really stood out immediately was how smooth it was.

The second thing was how explosive, yet fully controlled it was, like cracking a whip.

The spin rates remained consistent, even we didn’t catch the ball flush on the face.

Even on high toe strikes, the spin stayed low and the feel of the shaft was just as good.

Why is the Aretera EC1 So Popular?

Ec1 2

Famous Founder: Alex Dee brings a world of experience with him from Fujikara, there is also a full team of shaft veterans to build anticipation for the new shafts.

Smooth Feel: For an explosive and stiff shaft, the feel was butter smooth throughout our testing. We always felt in control of the club head.

Consistency: The shafts were consistent, even when we didn’t catch the ball flush on the face. The RPM’s stayed low and we got a tight dispersion.

Aesthetic appeal: The shafts look great in the bag with the bright coloring really standing out as a winner.

How Does the Aretera EC1 Perform?

The EC1 delivers a powerful blend of stability and responsiveness in throughout the club.

The performance is fueled by the ControlCENTR design, which spreads the bias layers in the shaft instead of concentrating them in the core.

This allows the EC1 to offer enhanced feel without sacrificing strength and explosiveness.

Good Spin Control: Even when you dont catch the clubhead flush, the spin rates stay low and the dispersions stays tight.

Smooth Transition: There’s a smooth hinge feeling at the moment between backswing and downswing that gives players speed, stability and confidence.

Launch & Flight: The Blue shaft offers a mid high launch, while the grey, with a 10% stiffer tip, promotes a slightly lower, more penetrating flight.
